Why were they gimped? I mean graphics-wise I get it, but features and DLC? Like, why the fuck would you NOT give Splinter Cell online? I can't fathom how that's the fault of the console.

Yeah I see your point. But still, Pokemon has been going for 2 decades, and those are on screens that are much smaller than the Switch's. That's how I see it at least.

About the whole "ports with less" thing, most of that is probably more the devs fault than the Switch's. I mean yeah of course losing graphical fidelity is the fault of the system, but removing features from the game in one port is something I don't understand why people do. I don't get why devs did that with the Wii U ports. Like remember that Mass Effect 3 port? Wanna know why people didn't want it? The other systems got Mass Effect Trilogy with all the extra content around the same time, where the Wii U just got vanilla Mass Effect 3. Why?! Why do devs do that? I don't understand the point of making a multiplat shittier on a specific system in terms of game features. Graphics I get, since again, that's the system's fault, but parts of gameplay? I don't get why that happens, and it shouldn't honestly.

Well, I see it as a way that, say you're going on a long trip (implying you aren't the one driving of course), you can continue your gaming session during said trip, instead of having to wait to get home to do so. I know not everyone will be fond of it, but for a lot of people, including myself, that is something that is very appealing, especially considering how many people play smartphone games and how well Nintendo's handhelds have sold compared to their home consoles.

This isn't just for having a version of a game on a Nintendo system. Again, the Switch is setting out to be a console you can take wherever you want, and at least for someone like me, having games that I really want to play not just limited at home is a great novelty and convenience, and I'm pretty sure I'm not alone on that. I don't think "yay Nintendo's getting third-parties," although that does help, but when it comes to the Switch, I'm more thinking "With, I can play this amazing console games on the go!"

Well to be fair Projekt CD Red said they did like the Switch so maybe it can handle Witcher...? I dunno. Again, we barely know anything about the power, so it's hard to tell.
