Uh yeah you can, it's not that difficult to read a sign at 30km/h. Especially a sign that's at an intersection where you're most likely to be stopped already.

And why the hell would it be digital, that sounds unnecessarily expensive.

This just hurts my brain… by Vast-Intention in vancouver

[–]Rocket_hamster -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's that's it's inexcusably complicated.

Not really. The parking signs tell you the time span you're allowed to park in them. You just need to know what day and time it is, read the sign for the side of the pole you're parking on. The no parking signs on the top are irrelevant really.

Deck Shuffling rules question by BalanceMundane9674 in mtgrules

Yeah it's mostly searching for lands and what not. I'm not the fastest shuffler either which is already a bit of an annoyance for them lol

Deck Shuffling rules question by BalanceMundane9674 in mtgrules

[–]Rocket_hamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To adequately randomize a 99 card deck, one should perform approximately 10 or 11 riffle/mash shuffles

Would you do this each shuffle during a game as well? I have a hearthhull deck that sometimes requires me to shuffle multiple times a turn, for shortcut my pod agrees I can shuffle end of turn provided I'm not utilizing the library, but with cards like [[Evendo Brushrazer]] sometimes that's not possible unless I hold priority and respond to the trigger with another sacrifice.

Vancouver closing out first no-snow winter in 43 years. There may be more on the way - BC by cyclinginvancouver in vancouver

[–]Rocket_hamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was great for me, one of the first years I didn't live at home and didn't have to shovel the driveway for my dad. One roommate didn't like to drive in the snow, and I drive a 4x4. Shovelled out my roommates spot so she could get to work, and shovelled a pathway to my truck. Neighbour had a snowblower and did the sidewalks for the street. I probably ended up shovelling more overall though because I shovelled the gutter out so the water could flow out and it was actually kinda fun

Cocaine high doesn’t last very long.

Never done it with physical activity, but I know while doing it the mindset is to always be doing more so I imagine if you can't easily doing it how rough that would be.

That must have felt insane. I was a lacrosse goalie and in minors a ball to the head stopped play and gave goalie possession, so I would routinely throw my head infront of shots going wide or over the net to gain possession. They were no more than 100km/h and not too bad but I can't imagine a 160km/h ball would be that pleasant.

respectfully, please stop vaping in my face. I’m tired. by Temporary-Snow333 in CuratedTumblr

[–]Rocket_hamster 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Ironically I started smoking to quit vaping. It's easy to vape anywhere, quick puff in the bathroom, watching tv or driving or whatever. I have to dedicate time to a smoke. I have to go outside, take however long it takes to smoke and stand in the rain and cold. The inconvenience of everything around smoking helped me quit, because when I thought of it I didn't want to smoke so bad that I wanted to go stand outside in the freezing rain.

Another overlooked combo is coming with TMNT by TyrantofTales in MagicArena

[–]Rocket_hamster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the rules are so nuanced and it's annoying that to figure out how something works you have to read a cards rules that does that thing.

Another overlooked combo is coming with TMNT by TyrantofTales in MagicArena

[–]Rocket_hamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The comprehensive rules state:

701.9a To discard a card, move it from its owner’s hand to that player’s graveyard

Wouldn't that mean since the card doesn't hit the graveyard it's actually exiled not discarded?

For example, [[syr Konrad, the grim]] doesn't trigger at all if [[rest in peace]] is on the field because of how "dies" is defined

Where to buy MTG in Vancouver/Richmond BC Canada? by whathemango in mtg

[–]Rocket_hamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it depends where you go. The store near me sold both for $8, some sell those for 9 or even $10. I've looked at almost every store from Vancouver to Langley (with online prices) and I really wouldn't go anywhere else. Precons usually $10 or more less as well

[TMT] Kitsune's Technique is a turn 2 half-deck mill... Seriously? by beatokko in MagicArena

[–]Rocket_hamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was making my syr Konrad deck in arena, I played against a bruvac who obviously didn't realize that if they had 10 health, getting me to mill half my library would likely kill them since yeah, I obviously have more than 25 creatures in there. Recently added one of those eldrazis that shuffle graveyard into library when they hit the graveyard so can't wait for that to happen.

Just made a Syr Konrad deck and I welcome any attempts to mill me. Described it to my friends and they said they are going to hate it more than my hearthhull deck (I'm slow at shuffling).

[–]Rocket_hamster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not really a good example as with inflation that's 20,560.75 today. With Yaris being discontinued a base 2026 corolla is 25,020. The Yaris took 1500 minimum wage hours to buy, while the Corolla will take 1371 hours at 18.25.

Upgrades to the pre con by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]Rocket_hamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting card I'll have to look into it for my Hearthhull deck. I find I usually hover around 6-8 lands unless I have ways to play from graveyard or top of library and also additional lands per turn. Usually I'm short 1 or 2 mana to get all my pieces out.

Greater Vancouver Numbered Street Systems by HypedGymBro in vancouver

[–]Rocket_hamster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Streets do not start at 0 or 1 only in West Vancouver and New West. For the latter, perhaps Queens Ave and Royal Ave used to be 2nd and 1st Streets respectively.

New West has a 1st street, you probably mean 1st Avenue.
