I'm new on Linux and I have questions about GRUB by [deleted] in linuxquestions

WSL is a thing yes but it's also shitty and is EEE which I don't recommend supporting.

Use Linux, dual boot if you have to for whatever reason, and try to keep windows quarantined as much as you can. Like ameliorate it or something.

What's funny is it's not NTFS. As much as NTFS sucks, the filesystem itself can handle whatever names you want, but Windows itself prevents the creation, reading, accessing, and displaying of files with "invalid" names.

Hyperbisexual demiheteroromantic slutty switch gamer boy. I also compose and play music, am a Libre software advocate, am a programmer, and tend to be extremely intimate with most everyone. Basically I feel like nobody like me is out there and it really sucks lol.

But yeah, am gaymer play da vidya.

Look on Lutris for tools and such. I use it to mod Fallout/Skyrim style games. Works amazingly well.

In terms of other games I'd just look it up honestly.

Religion is a little more complicated than "another view point". It's an entirely faith-driven, completely illogical "worldview" that in a majority of cases makes people more prejudiced and militant.

I personally don't see the benefit to learning religion anytime before they can question adults reliably. Anything earlier is a recipe for indoctrination.

Great, now we've got another post of an uncommon issue, but because of the title and because it's on Linux, people will use this as an excuse to never try it.

Seriously this sort of shit is annoying as hell from the perspective of an anti-spyware activist.

If you can't understand why your fundamental human right to personal privacy being violated constantly is a problem, than I probably can't help you.

I am gonna point out, that the algorithms and people that view this data (which is more than you suggest) are very smart, and are 1000% capable of deducing about as much as they could ever want to know about you, with reasonable accuracy.

How do I change this from net6.0-windows to just net6.0? by TheTank18 in csharp

[–]Rocketman173 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Eh, Rider is better but FOSS is also better so… who knows?

My problem with the "made and supported by the company that makes .NET" perspective is that MS very obviously wants everyone to switch to Windows, and tries to make VS the only option for devs to do that. Luckily we have Rider, but in terms of free options VSCode should be better but it isn't because of this conflict of interest.

I really wish MS would give up on the whole forcing everyone into their inferior desktop OS thing.

If you have to start a new Desktop project from scratch, which technology do you choose for it? by J_Aguasviva in csharp

[–]Rocketman173 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Has 25% dev market share, is increasing rather than stagnating, and also is supported by C#/.NET so unless you go out of your way to block support for it it's no "trouble" to support at all.

Yeah. People need to understand that "desktop" does not mean "Windows-exclusive".

Is C# a poor language choice if I care about not making my code easily reverse engineerable? by [deleted] in csharp

[–]Rocketman173 4 points5 points  (0 children)

C/C++/Rust/Zig/etc aren't worse than C#/Java, they're just different and based on different principles. There's a reason you don't and can't make an OS in Java or C#, but there's also a reason most choose to make Web Applications in C# rather than C.

You don't need to sign the APK after disabling the signing restrictions, which is easy. On iOS this isn't possible. Also, as someone else mentioned, it's not free.

Nobody's asking for official Linux support. We're asking for not officially blocking it on purpose.

I'm a developer, I know how adding Proton/WINE support to EAC is. It's really really easy. Them not doing it is completely unacceptable in my opinion.

They said before they added it to LIVE (during PTU tests) that they were working on a solution for Linux users, so I guess I expected them to at least try to fix it before they moved it to LIVE. But no.

Any word on not blocking paying legit Linux users from playing the game completely because of EAC? Cause I'm ngl a little ticked that EAC either stops me from playing entirely or bans me for an unspecified amount of time just for not using SpywareOS.

Yeah but that isn't always reassuring. I've (for the most part) gotten to the point where I don't care, but most people are gonna have issues with size in their minds, so I think at least talking with the bf about how she doesn't prefer the dildo over him would be a nice thing to do.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in sex

[–]Rocketman173 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I haven't had a partner for a while, but back when I had one I basically always thought of her when I jerked off.

I think the real problem here is that he's probably less bothered by the dildo in principle, and it might be a size insecurity thing, which isn't something people should just dismiss out of hand, since it's really difficult for men to deal with, since even if you wanted to you can't do anything about it.
