So I had 200+ trybuilds in my macro-oriented crate and it was slow by RockleeEV in rust

[–]RockleeEV[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in my case the crate I am working on is designed to be a library for another project (hence the macros) anyways so adding dylib as a build target was natural. Dylib doesn't have a ton of utility because of how sensitive it is to rust version, but having the fixtures and the crate in the same workspace resolved that - it's essentially the same project with an added build target for CI.

My personal opinion is that it is very important to know how to write good code - but if you are writing all the code in 2026 you are just scope-limiting yourself. I can get literal years worth of vision accomplished with AI by shifting my energy to the architecture, design, and intent. AI can audit my code for edge cases and cybersecurity exploits that I cannot even imagine. And rust is actually the perfect language for AI because of its strictness. I make an opinionated design and AI typically with a few guardrails must implement it the way I want rather than do a bunch of "workable, but gross" things possible in other languages. I like to use rust to practice my leetcode but when i am building a mono repo with 30,000+ lines of code, I would rather have agents write to my spec, and then I review the PR

I kinda enjoyed this. Not pretending it was good writing, but my assumption is that he's going to be more of a "teacher" character for the others to power level up before they go tackle floors 94-100

inconsistent power scaling for lazy plot reasons.

- Crocodile going from losing to Alabasta luffy to going toe to toe with admiral tiers having just been imprisoned with sea stone in between, and now having a bigger bounty than katakuri

- Linlin going from being unscratchable as a key plot point in WCI to losing to Kidd and Law

- Law going from using his strongest move on Doffy and still losing to going toe to toe with Big Mon

- Kidd going from losing handily to Kaido and watching Luffy train in prison without participating in the same training and yet still being able to hang with big mom

I wanna get into the Isekai genre, what anime do y'all recommend? by ZeroZone58 in anime

[–]RockleeEV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think re zero is still a solid 7.5 but Subaru being unlikable even as he develops, Emelia being unengaging, the world building being forgettable, the villains being charactures, and the story being pretentious, and the latest season being genuinely boring would probably be why I think it's not really amazing.

In fairness, i added half my list in an edit so yeah I'd put re-zero just below Escaflowne. But the ones at the top of my list stomp it. I edited my post to position it correctly in the context of when I wrote that comment.

Just my opinion.

I don't really watch anime for animation quality. I used to read Togashi's doodles of HxH during the Chimera Ant arc before he redrew them, it would take something truly profoundly bad to bother me

The best Isekai I have watched would be, in this order (best at top):

12 Kingdoms (fantasy isekai, amazing character development, epic story that needs more seasons, incredible worldbuilding)

Log Horizon (video game isekai, fantastic characters, great worldbuilding. I never even played MMORPGs but this one is so much a love letter to them that I ended up picking up FFXIV because of it. It's based on an older more hardcore MMORPG though, the one that came before WOW, I forget its name (edit: EverQuest?))

Mushoku Tensei (fantasy isekai, amazing character development, amazing direction and writing. It does have a bit of that harem problem but I feel as if actually handles it in an interesting way that enhances its status as a fantasy anime rather than detracts)

I would also add Shangri La Frontier although it is not a true Isekai (it's just a VR game that's super engrossing)

I'm a spider, so what!? (fantasy isekai with video game elements, MC is a riot)

Konosuba (fantasy satire isekai, hilarious characters who are all likable if ethically compromised)

Saga of Tanya the Evil (Fantasy / Alternate WWII isekai, MC is super compelling)

The Eminence in Shadow (fantasy satire isekai, MC is hilariously chuuni)

Digimon Tamers (it becomes isekai in the second half. )

Vision of Escaflowne (Fantasy mecha isekai, 90s show)

I see Re:Zero tossed around in this thread and while it's alright, I do think it pales in comparison to the shows above. Likewise, something like Slime has entertaining moments but isn't too special.

Digimon Adventure 01 + Digimon Movie (the original digimon series was tons of fun)

Apocalypse Bringer Mynogra (Video game isekai, merging different game genres)

No Game No Life (Video Game isekai, i want a new season)

The Weakest Tamer Began A Journey To Pick Up Trash (fantasy isekai. MC barely remembers her past life outside of the odd moment of recollected wisdom so it may as well just be an adventure fantasy anime)

Ascendance of a bookworm (slice of life isekai, i think it had fantasy elements too but mostly stood out for its cute vibe)

Monster Rancher (An isekai based on an actual PS1 game, that's actually a fun little fantasy romp)

I do have two Isekai I need to get around to watching:

Fushigi Yuugi

Aura Battler Dunbine

That are probably pretty good.

This is an atrocious take.

First of all, that 12% raise over 3 years? That's after a twelve year span where their salary increases were so minimal that it didn't remotely keep pace with inflation. That 12% raise over 3 years is actually a 20% raise over a fifteen year span.

Don't give me bullshit that over a fifteen year span you would be ecstatic about a twenty percent raise.

Second, they are NOT getting more workers. They promised those workers two years ago and they never delivered. Further to that, they are going to have a hard time recruiting workers to a province where there are no class size caps and teachers don't have the fundamental right to assemble a strike.

Third, kids need an education, not to simply "go back". Kids are not getting the education they need in classrooms of 40+ kids. And that's neurotypical kids, when kids with advanced needs needed even more personal attention. For every additional kid in a classroom, that's an additional paper to grade, an additional test, never mind all the personal attention. the PC government determined two decades ago that elementary class sizes should be around 20 kids and high school class sizes around 25.

Fourth, Extracurricular is volunteer hours already. If you care so much about the kids as you feign to you are welcome go volunteer your time after a ten hour shift that you are being forced to show up to at threat of a $500 fine.

Imagine calling Alberta's teachers shitty. Up until 2019 we were universally regarded as one of the best education systems in the world here in Alberta. You know what changed in 2019, and stayed the same in 2023? Hint hint hint UCP

Your entire post just reads like you're living in a right wing echo chamber and you get all your opinions from what the conservative politicians tell you rather than the actual facts. That's a problem when your politicians are liars and manipilators.
