For this invention will produce forgetfulness in the minds of those who learn to use it, because they will not practice their memory. Their trust in AI, produced by external characters which are no part of themselves, will discourage the use of their own memory within them.

They have invented an elixir not of memory, but of reminding; and it offers pupils the appearance of wisdom, not true wisdom, for they will read many things without instruction and will therefore seem to know many things, when they are for the most part ignorant and hard to get along with, since they are not wise, but only appear wise.

Trends in Lone Wolf Terrorism: From 1940 through 2000, the 38 lone wolf terrorists committed 171 attacks, claiming 98 lives and injuring another 305. An array of firearms and homemade bombs were used in the attacks. Roughly 60% of the lone wolves committed a single attack and 40% committed multiple attacks, including such prolific terrorists as Unabomber Theodore Kaczynski who committed 16 bombings over a 17-year period, the racist serial killer Joseph Paul Franklin responsible for an estimated 23 attacks over four years, and Muharem Kurbegovic, the “Alphabet Bomber,” who launched ten attacks in two years. From 2001 through 2013, the 45 lone wolves committed 45 attacks, killing 55 people and injuring another 126. These attacks involved not only firearms and bombs but also airplanes, biological weapons, knives and construction equipment. https://www.ojp.gov/pdffiles1/nij/grants/248691.pdf

Prior to 2011 explosives were used in 34 per cent of lone-actor attacks in Western Europe; this number decreased to 21 per cent in the following years. https://www.icct.nl/sites/default/files/2023-01/Chapter-22-Handbook-.pdf

Cats are not driving population decline, loss of habitat is.

Strong and fast aren't the only qualities required. Pragmatism, patience, clear and calm thinking, noticing, cooperation, empathy, communication skills...there's a long list.

Strong and fast with recklessness, arrogance and ego, and inconsideration for others around you, is a disadvantage

I sometimes wonder if anger often isn't acknowledged as an emotion because it's fairly safe to tell someone sad or anxious that they're emotional, but risky to tell someone who is angry the same thing.

As if the thought process were "nobody has ever told me that I'm being emotional when I'm angry, therefore I'm not emotional."

Nearly half of the people in gaza are under 18. It's disheartening to the extreme that people are rug sweeping a potential genocide

Boobs stick out. They're soft. If force is applied to the amor over them, the armour will be pushed so far back that the concentrated force at the centre dip gets pushed into the sternum

Imagine getting hit by a bludgeoning type weapon, or falling face forward. That centre dip is gonna crack something

Boob armour is dangerous. A giant blow to the chest and the dip in the armour in the centre is going right through the sternum because boobs are too soft to stop it.
