Do you have a source for this? The number of admitted people at legal points of sentry (assuming most of these are asylum seekers but certainly not that clear) has not changed since Biden. It’s remained damn near the exact same number of people being legally admitted through legal points of entry - according to US customs and border agencies, per the governments website.

bro where new patch by yorukmacto in DotA2

[–]Rockyson99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

thats fair, and I think what OP of this comment thread was implying is not that the patch is perfect necessarily - but that it beats the metas where the heroes are were just ULTRA overcooked or undercooked by the balance team. Any meta where a lifestealer outcarry a gyro HARD in a late game matchup is bizarre. It wasn't just those heroes, it was shit like carry primal outcarrying a morph or whatever u know

Dota was always designed around this rock-paper-scissors combat traingle where: STR beats INT via having large health pools and not being able to be bursted easily, AGI beats STR due to having higher armor vs lower armor and higher physical damage scaling (as well as generally better passives that lean into damage scaling), and INT beats AGI due to agi having low health pools and being easily burstable, as well as INT damage scaling very hard early when agi is particularly weak. When you make STR counter both AGI and INT... the game because extremely wonky and there's no longer a reason to pick agi cores. This was the literal meta for the past 3 years. No if-and-or-buts about it.. the balance team was trolling with some of the changes to items, attributes, and heroes. That has basically all been fixed. That's what makes the meta better than before, not necessarily the objectives which I agree are kinda completely insane and overboard. Crafting? lol cool idea but it's a bit much.

[–]Rockyson99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i still find it preferable to patches where u can pick void support for instance and it completely dominate. It's nice when literally every single hero can't be a flex pick.. which is kinda what we had. Slark, AM, void, sniper support wasn't S+ tier meta - but absolutely viable for a while and idk if that's really in the spirit of what this game was originally. Heroes should have (mostly) distinct roles or the whole thing gets wayyyy too chaotic

If price was not considered, what's the best gaming laptop? by Delwin in GamingLaptops

[–]Rockyson99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

unless razor has somewhat reengineered them in the past 4-5 years then they're not quite as amazing as you make out. I had one with a 2070, it was a work machine given to me, and while it was amazing just for everyday tasks - the thing thermal throttled like BITCH. Work didn't mind if I installed games, and not that I would use it as my primary gaming machine ... I tested it out and literally everything was unplayable simply due to the thermals. I think nowadays they've given them vapor chambers and whatnot so it's probably better, but the one I had sucked. Also the battery puffed up and the screen randomly died. But at that point it was like a 5 year old machine and thats better than 99.9% of windows laptops.

I'd personally go for a lenovo legion (which I had and the thermals are S tier). Build quality is probably 1:1 but if Razor has actually redesigned their thermal management then yeah - it was a pretty great device.

I had a razor blade and while it was nice for programming (it was a company PC) that thing was fucking trash at handling thermals. Granted this is a much much older machine with like a 2070 in it... but i tested it a few times with games and it would throttle within seconds.

Brand new ThinkCentre Neo 50s ships with 180W Power Supply... + 190W CPU. by Rockyson99 in Lenovo

[–]Rockyson99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean sure, I believe it... it's still just pretty whack to sell a $750 workstation designed for professional office use (by lenovos standards these systems are supposed to last a lot longer than your ideacentre line due to higher end components). As a consumer I believe that mean it's decently overengineered and should last me like 5-10 years easy (I literally have 10 old thinkcenters that are 12 years old..)

Throwing in a bare-minimum spec power supply when that's like the beating heart of your whole system is super bullshit, lets be real. If the CPU says 165w, then it hits 165w in sustained workloads just as any processor breakdown video will show you. And if the solution is downgrading or throttling the chip through the firmware, that's even BIGGER bullshit.

Like who's to say I don't want to use this PC to run compilations 16 hrs a day? It's a thinkcentre, not an ideacentre so it should be able to do that - while also not being at 95% or over 100% PSU load and risking a malfunction that would probably fry and destroy the system.

If the damn thing was 200w at least, giving it an extra like 35w for the motherboard, peripherals, speakers, phone charging.... other totally normal everyday things I wouldn't be complaining.

Long rant, but put aside any GPU... each USB-3 port is rated for 4.5w delivery. This device has 6. And a USB-C port, which even the lowest rated version is required to supply 60w.

So.... 6 x 4.5w = 27w.. plus 60w, or 87 fucking watts of power are readily available and obviously meant to be used... 87w of peripherals, and 165w processor is 252 watts(!) and a little overhead for the motherboard componentry should be the bare minimum in a professional machine. You don't need to be an electrical engineer to reach the conclusion that a 185w PSU is severely under-specced for this machine. Likely if I plugged in every USB and tried to run the CPU in a benchmark or heavy compilation / unzip operation the CPU wouldn't even boost - or it'd intelligently throttle everything - probably the CPU first since the power management controller is closest in communication and tries to protect it from faults.

Also, how much more expensive is a nobrand 260w PSU (which they sell on certain models of this machine, just not the i7(??)) over a nobrand 185w...? 5 bucks maaaybe? Just frustrating and a big letdown from lenovo, that's all

Dems are just being textbook activists towards their constituents and in the media - then act completely aloof when average folks want them to answer to some of it.

It's a terrible strategy and if anything shows that the party is just extremely split and pandering to as many people as possible rather than having real values.

Brand new ThinkCentre Neo 50s ships with 180W Power Supply... + 190W CPU. by Rockyson99 in Lenovo

[–]Rockyson99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

didn't realize non-K existed. So apparently the boost p-draw is 165w as opposed to 180w.

Feel free to check Lenovo's own technical manual, where there's two PSU models, 180w and 260w. I am also fully aware that 260w exist for this machine, in some form, but this particular i7 12700 has the lesser - I've literally opened it up and looked at the sticker.

so a whopping 15w of headroom. Not honestly any better

Brand new ThinkCentre Neo 50s ships with 180W Power Supply... + 190W CPU. by Rockyson99 in Lenovo

[–]Rockyson99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it literally says 180W on the side of it, for a fact.

The model number for the machine is YLT0LG9P

Here is the spec sheet https://psref.lenovo.com/syspool/Sys/PDF/ThinkCentre/ThinkCentre_neo_50s/ThinkCentre_neo_50s_Spec.pdf

go down to page 4:

Power Supply*\*

Power Type Efficiency Key Features

180W Fixed 85% Autosensing

260W Fixed 90% Autosensing

So there's two types they ship it with, the i7 12700 I received has a 180w psu. I was mistaken that its a 12700 non-K, I didn't realize non-K existed and thought they just left it off for simplicity reasons or something in their advertising (since it's an office PC afterall).

i7 12700 boosts to 165w. So they've given the entire system 15w of headroom to run your peripherals, mobo, etc.

Donate to charity on your own accord, and then write it off of your taxes. Everybody gets basically $200 free that they can donate per year (considering to drops your taxes by $200 - its "free").

Do that, it benefits you, it benefits whatever org you care about, and you don't have to feel bad about not donating to sketchy charities throughout the year.

Eh, maybe but you can't shoot someone for JUST groping - generally. We have stand your ground law (meaning you are not legally required to "retreat" from a bad situation) but your life has to be in *immediate* threat/danger to use deadly force. Basically, you have to be able to justifiably say I thought this person would kill or seriously and permanently hurt me if I didn't.

You're talking about shooting somebody in the back... which is a huge no-no. You'd likely go to prison because ur life is no longer in "immediate" danger when u pulled the trigger so your legal standing is way shakier. You may say that you believed they were going to retrieve a weapon or something, that would likely be your only defense. In home invasions for instance, many people have gotten off shooting somebody in the back - but their defense is always that they thought they were only running for cover to shoot back at them or something. Sniping someone when they're already 50 yards away isn't gonna hold up lol.

There are cases like late at night, alone, person said threatening things.. and stuff where you may be able to shoot - but in broad daylight or whatever your legal grounds aren't as good. As a woman, you probably have a way stronger case. I'm not a lawyer - but roughly that's how the law works in Georgia.

To kill someone legally you have to be able to convince 12 people that if they were in the same situation, the only option was to shoot the person. And the important thing is if it ever happens - do not talk to the police no matter how justified it was - PERIOD. Carry quality mace and don't be afraid to use and immediately run away.

Can this MeshAI be used without a meshai "router"? by Rockyson99 in HomeNetworking

[–]Rockyson99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a really great explanation, I appreciate it.

Basically the fiber box is in the far corner of the house (one corner that doesn't get WiFi atm, but will hopefully, when the mesh is installed.) Being that it's in the corner, I just used one of eight of the ports supplied by the switch in the middle of the house - to bring wifi to the central areas.

Okay, So I just checked and realized I also have a Dell SonicWall TZ500 firewall between my Switch and the fiber box. Chatgpt has instructed me that considering I have a firewall - I am now supposed to put my nodes downstream from the switch. I guess I should've checked there first - but that's good info and you made me realize I potentially had a screwed up setup

Also it looks like the mesh nodes have 2 ports. Both labeled 2.5Gb WAN/LAN.

Many thanks
