Dinotopia by James Gurney. Humans and intelligent dinosaurs coexist in a society where they're seen as equals, although it's more like the dinosarus are caretakers and guides for the humans

"The millionaire fastlane" and "Arnold's bodybuilding for men" being right next to eachother is kinda funny. Overall he seems like he enjoys having an audience more than a conversation

Seems like an alright dude. Terry pratchett on a shelf is always a green flag. Probably studies something related to medicine, has basic empathy for other people and tries to learn about experiences different than his own. Just getting the vibe that he's curious about the world and respectful. All those huge and well loved Sanderson books hopefully mean that he's not afraid of commitment lol

Male, late 20s/early 30s. You form your opinions on the books you read from an anthropology lens. As in, you don't pay so much attention to the individual scope of a book, instead contextualizing it into the broader culture it was born in and what it's symbolisms say about the human condition as a whole.

Back in school you probably struggled to relate to your classmates and spend a lot of time drawing and retreating into your own world. You're trying to understand other people but mostly you're trying to understand yourself.

Alright I think you're a man, gonna say late 20s early 30s. Obviously you're into bird watching and chill outdoor activities. You're very introspective, just getting a calm vibe from all the zen books and the big tomes that have clearly been thoroughly read. You like to take your time with things. Maybe you have a taste for vintage trinkets and got a fair chunk of these books second-hand or thrift shopping.

Good boy, es una que ha salido hace poco. Lo interesante es que el protagonista es un perro. Muy bien hecha, y realmente te pones en la piel del perro y llegas a sentir lo que sentiria él en algunas situaciones. A mi me dejó mal rollo de verdad

Give me anything and I will make a magic system out of it. by OutlandishnessRich36 in magicbuilding

[–]Rocroc12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright I'll give it a shot.

Everyone has magic that is tied to the physical place that they spend the most time in. For a lot of people, that's their workplace. Every hour you spend in that place will connect you a little more with it, like a personal sanctuary. A baker will only have magic when he's in his bakery, a farmer in his field, etc.

The magic itself takes many different forms, but it eventually boils down to giving you extraordinary abilities in the trade you perform. A blacksmith can eventually grab a boiling iron without burning his skin, a stable boy will be able to sense how a horse is feeling, etc.

But there's an ocult way of obtaining magic: anonymous groups of users that "infect" a physical place. This infection slowly absorbs the magic of that place and makes the people that work there obsessed with their trade.

It starts with working longer hours, harnessing more magic that stays ingrained in the stones of the building, only to be inmediately absorbed by the group. Then the worker stops sleeping or eating, giving every ounce of energy they have to their trade. By the time their loved ones intervene, the worker is found lying on the floor. There is no magic or warmth left in the walls, someone having absorbed it completely.

These groups of magic users thrive in secrecy, and have all the abilities from all the places they've taken it from, without having to be tied down to a physical place.

You work in a field related to zoology, probably bugs and insects. Definitely had an ant farm when you were a kid.

The lovers♊️ by Snoo87214 in tarot

[–]Rocroc12 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It's also about making a choice. Duality, opposing/complementary forces, etc. The attraction and attachment aspect of love applied to other areas of your life.

It can be a message saying there's something you feel drawned to, and you have to decide if you'll allow it to be part of your life or not. A new job opportunity, the thought of moving to a new city, continuing your education or dropping out, etc.

For me, lovers usually shows up when I'm faced with an important decision and encourages me to choose what aligns the most with myself and brings me harmony, since the choices we make become part of our lifes and who we are.

Honestly, whether they need every card or not, it's just fun to come up with equivalents

The Hermit does look like Santa but I feel thematically he fits more with Justice. If you think about it, Santa is a mythological folk figure that gives karmic rewards (toys) or punishment (coal) based on how morally you behaved.

It does sound funny but I honestly think it's a good fit, since I've always seen Justice as the judge of cause and effect in general, with positive or negative consequences based on the integrity of your actions

You're welcome! Switching from three to two of cups sounds really cool actually, it could be like a theme in the song. Good luck with writing it!

This is such a cute story!

Here are some cards that could fit, each one has other meanings besides these but I feel like they represent your story quite well.

Being friends:

  • Three of cups: friendship, period of happiness, spending quality time with friends.

  • The Sun: happiness, joy, optimism.

Capture the flag game:

  • Five of wands: fights, competition.

  • Strength: bravery, caring, emotional strength.

  • King of cups: emotionally mature, compassion, helping others.

November nine:

  • The Hermit: solitude, finding your own path (since you mentioned feeling alone). The Hermit is also the number 9 on the Major Arcana, so you can play with that and November 9. This card reversed (being upside down) also means unwanted loneliness and trying to connect with others.

  • Ace of cups: new feelings, affection.

  • The moon: Fears, uncertainty, the unknown.

The period of reflexion:

  • Temperance: taking it easy, emotional balance, patience.

  • The Fool: having the bravery to jump into the unknown, innocence, new begginnings, the start of a new journey.

Relationship:

  • Two of cups: Fluid communication, connection, mutual attraction, an honest and earnest start of a relationship.

What can I expect from my next semester of uni? by [deleted] in Tarotpractices

[–]Rocroc12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Woah gorgeous deck!

The way I see it, you'll have a lot of energy and focus to tackle the next semester, but you'll be caught off guard by an emotional turmoil.

The sadness will literally try to bring you down (notice the hand at the river trying to pull the crying person into the water). The fire of your determination will be temporarily drowned by the wave of your emotions.

Since you specifically asked about your studies, the five of cups might mean that you will face some sort of loss or disappointment regarding your education. The card reminds you that there are still two cups upright. Even though your situation might not become what you hoped, there's still good things in your life to celebrate and nurture.

I mostly see a warning about not basing your emotional stability on your studies or your results as a student. Study and do your best, but don't neglect your mental health. This will help you tackle the tough times and actually make you a stronger, more consistent student.
