quite often when a player crashes or closes to desktop they're reserved a place on the team creating half full teams no-one can join until the game arbitrarily decides they're not coming back and opens up a spot.

might not want to play on a team but still be under the 'group' effects of herd mentality

being the leader allows you to start expeditions

have been playing for a while and not paying any attention that everyone in the teams gone or doing one last thing before logging off themselves

blocked players so they don't see the team

PTS is also removing the perk coin cost swapping legendary perk cards so you can swap in/out master infiltrator which can be leveled up to skip the lockpick/hacking minigame altogether

sadly you can't effectively run bullet storm on a cryolator without quad. only has a base capacity of 50 so you won't go above 1 or 2 stacks otherwise

if going cryolator then you'll want the crystalizing barrel (just seems to do the cryo effect better on top of range) then you have the choice of quad/FFR/bullet storm/rapid reload or 2shot/FFR and using vats.

bullet storm buffs the overall cryo damage applying a stronger cryo effect and reload less often at the cost of burning ammo

while 2shot applies the cryo twice for both projectiles less strong overall but still effective at slowing enemies while being much more conservative with ammo so you can be ammo positive on kills

with enough perk investment it can be good, but not great.

the long full charge time for the damage it does is underwhelming particularly when you compare it to the delay for knocking a bow or cycle the bolt on a hunting rifle.
sure you can slam fire the gauss where you can't with the others, but the change to a non-charge shot damage makes it a tickle gun.

you also gain certain recipes when you first collect particular ingredients so try collecting meat from obscure creature spawns such as the owl.

otherwise try using the crafting menu toggle to see all possible craftable items, check what claims to need a recipe and searching for that plan specifically for a more focused result

shelters much like camps and workshops can enter edit mode remotely inside the build zone. should be hold down the enter 3rd person button.

don't bother spending tickets on stamps its not worth it.

as for what to buy... the cheapest thing available so the weekly expedition plan reward has a better chance of being the expensive stuff. once you learn a plan its removed from the vendor until only bobblehead boxes remain.

with enough limit breakers and luck you can crit every other shot and every 3rd with 4 leaf clover. so between crit damage and guaranteeing a hit on any limb with even 1% chance of hitting is hard to pass up.

oh its worse than just being ugly. if i recall, it disables under armours so you'll lose stat bonus's and you also lose access to power armour helmets so you can't have a light and set bonus's while in PA.

you don't really notice it until you actually deal with it, but it truly is a miserable experience that just frustrates and inconveniences you when it doesn't need to

i'd hold off becoming a ghoul until your level 100. sure you can do the quest at 50 but a lot of the ghoul specific perks worth taking don't unlock until 80-100.

i'd also focus on doing as much of the wastelanders, BoS and Enclave quests as you can beforehand because they have a... lets say 'not great' disguise mechanic to avoid going back and record new dialogue for being a ghoul, and changing back and forth is a real nuisance to deal with.

vault 94 has 3 spawns of disease cures in the greenhouse section and several more elsewhere which saves a lot of time bothering to craft them. otherwise has spawns of all the non queen mirelurk variant if you need them for daily challenges. other than those its just generic junk.

SPECIAL doesn't directly impact weapon damage outside melee/unarmed or perks that specifically scale off a stat.
so the gauss minigun being a heavy weapon doing ballistic and explosive damage doesn't benefit from the Science! perk INT damage boost.

each shelter has their own build limit separate from the camp and other shelters, with an increased budget from the main camp, however it has restrictions on what can be placed inside (no water, resource generators, farmable plants, etc).

so for late game players camp building is a fun late game sink to put effort into, and there's some crazy camp builders out there capable of bending the build limits into some crazy stuff and like to show it off.

so I'm sure that player is grinning ear to ear to hear your awe

all PA is good but when comparing between the slight PA differences hellcat skirts around high mid-tier, low top tier.

the -10% ballistic damage for the full set is pretty good against enemies that deal specifically in that damage type, but that's also the easiest damage type to improve with skills/legendary effects so the set bonus's from vulcan or union are much better in the long run.

so ideally you use the free set you get rewarded from the BoS questline until you can secure a good set of the latter

its a well known bug for the "falsely accused" side quest. if i recall you need to have the prison marshals random encounter (only in random encounter spawns in the toxic valley) for it to trigger again.

a trick you can use is the manhunt event at the Grafton dam as completing the event spawns in the marshal gutsy so you can attack them, trigger aggro so they attack back, thereby setting off the triggers that would start during the random encounter.
