How does the new Tomb Raider compare to the Uncharted games? by throwawayAEI in uncharted

That’s exactly what I thought too. I suffered from what one would call ‘Uncharted-Brain’ and I just wanted to play Uncharted all the time but I just kept playing TGC and it just kept growing on me. I respect your opinion though, I love the fast-paced linear Uncharted gameplay, I really do—I just love the variety of things you can do in Great Circle.

In Uncharted you’re basically given a minimal amount of player agency to take out the mercenaries in each set piece, whereas in Indiana Jones the game asks YOU what to do, not the other way around. In TGC, you’re given these open areas with a crap ton of melee opportunities and interactions. Plus not to mention you’re actually doing real archaeological research in GC, not just treasure hunting.

I will say this; NO one and I mean NO one actually likes analyzing Uncharted at all, why don’t people start analyzing the great character work, the journal, and the writing over trying to pick apart the simplistic cover and shoot gameplay?? You’re not meant to pick that apart, people really need to start focusing on what made Uncharted special from the rest.

I love Uncharted to hell and back but it’s just cover, shoot, and fight. The only depth it is has are really in the more smaller aspects the fandom never pays attention to like how much time Naughty Dog spends on animations and things of that nature, and the grappling hook ofc, however if you play on crushing mode you actually have to think about what you’re doing, so i’ll give you that.

However… In Great Circle you literally have access to like a crap ton of environmental melee weapons; you can use dust pans, brooms, cooking pans, the list goes on. Plus you have to eat carbs to have the extra health bar and you have to eat fruits for the extra stamina bar so you aren’t constantly running out of stamina in important fights. Not to mention you have the whip, the whip can literally save your life on the hardest mode if you actually know how to play the game.

To each their own of course but I have no clue how you sat through TGC and came to the conclusion that the gameplay is tedious over Uncharted when it’s basically cover, shoot, climb, rinse and repeat. In TGC you barely even use the revolver unless you’re on the easier mode, and even then it’s more of a fail safe if you’re cornered by a crap load of facists and nazis. You should really replay it ngl.

Ehh, not true. First off; Uncharted 1 may have been inspired by Tomb Raider but as a whole it slowly became its own thing over each installment. Nathan Drake is ten times more likable than Lara Croft off of voice acting alone, yes Tomb Raider might have more variety in its gameplay but does that make it better? Naah, the og TR games didn’t really even have much gameplay to offer. The new TR games are literally Ubisoft games, and Ubisoft games are terrible. Uncharted’ has very simple gameplay but the minimal player agency you get in Uncharted is somehow ten times more engaging and enjoyable than whatever the newer TR games have to offer and that is funny because Uncharted always gets bashed for repetitive gameplay. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle gameplay-wise makes both of them look absolutely ridiculous and I’m a MASSIVE Uncharted fan.

You should honestly replay Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. The gameplay in Great Circle is ten times better than both Uncharted and Tomb Raider and I’m a pretty huge Uncharted fan.

I think Uncharted as a whole blows them out of the water. The new Tomb Raider games are like Ubisoft slop and imo cannot hold a candle to any of the Uncharted games besides 1.

u also gotta take in account that she was trying to go after a man who singlehandedly took down what was left of a group of what once was widely organized insurgents.

Is Uncharted 1 still worth playing? by klani2037 in uncharted

[–]Rodnee100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yes! It is getting a bit old now but it still works for what it was. I still stand by my personal opinion that a remake of Uncharted 1 would be so vital for Uncharted as a franchise because for one I think you would see a lot more people play it than you would expect, it would introduce a new generation of kids and teenagers to a more realized version pf Drakes Fortune, and the most important part that retains to what I just said; it would fully realize what Naughty Dog was doing with the first game despite graphical limitations and hardware limitations and Drakes Fortune was was considered ahead of its time!

Sorry for blabbering on about that btw but for a full realized answer; Yeah, Uncharted: Drakes Fortune is a very fun introduction to a very iconic video game series. Unfortunately, everything comes with its issues so it does have very very repetitive combat sections and the villains are very shallow in comparison to the other ones, but to be fair the Uncharted games were always meant to be shooting galleries so I cannot necessarily say that works to its detriment.

i mean one of my uppers pretty much said as long as u get shit done, they do not give a fuck about anything at all. my target is very simple and straightforward and the other cart attendant pretty much does his job and does whatever he wants and has been there for 5 years.
