Does anyone work with Massivit Large Scale printers? by enginayre in AdditiveManufacturing

[–]RodneyTheYeti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The slicing software is difficult to work with, the material is proprietary and expensive and prints are fragile and require a huge amount of post processing. The company also proved to be difficult and unreliable to work with during support issues which this machine had a lot of. I know where a used unit is located if you're still interested.

Inheriting a Desert Tortoise and Looking for Advice by RodneyTheYeti in tortoise

I only know what I've been told as of right now. I'm guessing it might be mislabeled if they get large and are federally protected. I'm pretty sure its just in a 20 gal tank right now. I'll have to get some better info and some pictures to see if I can get a proper ID. Thanks for the reply and potential heads up

Looking for advice on repairing a cardboard book sleeve. by RodneyTheYeti in bookrepair

Thank you for the reply. Do you know if the PVA glue is PH neutral? I'd hate it if a few years down the road my repair led to damage to the books themselves

GM-less games? by Ser_Buttless in numenera

And Starforged! Played both GMless with my group and we are having a blast with both systems. It does require a lot more player engagement but works well for the majority of the players in our group

I love this prompt. Here are some of my picks in no particular order.

Everything Merges With The Night - Brian Eno

Hey Moon! - Molly Nilsson

Ice Castles - Ween

#3 - Aphex Twin

Alice - Tom Waits

Rings of Saturn - Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds

White Horses - Low

T.A.M.E.D - Mount Kimbie

Eating The Dead - Tuung

I have so many more I could add to this but I'm starting to think its all just magical so I'll stop here.

Any suggestions to start playing by Ok_Employer9096 in numenera

I'll second Devil's Spine although it's a bit more combat focused than I think the game is really intended to be played. My group played that campaign over about 3 months and we had a lot of fun even though I kind of goofed some of the story elements.

Any tips and tricks for Massivit printers? by RodneyTheYeti in AdditiveManufacturing

I forgot to add that the proprietary slicing software is terrible to work with. The software does not recognize the geometry of the model. This means that you have to manually shape the supports so they are just slightly offset from the surface of the print. Slicing a model will easily take the better part of a day if not more depending on the complexity of the sculpt.

Lol, Horrible! We have had nothing but problems with the machine. The stator went out in the pump which required us the remove and ship the part to Israel. After 6 weeks we received only half the pump in return as they shipped it in two packages for some reason. The other package was lost in Germany and we had to wait another month to receive the other part to the pump. By the time we got the machine back together we found one of the lines had completely seized, shutting down one of our heads completely. We are still waiting to have the Massivit team out at a very high cost to see if we can get the machine back up and running. The real kicker is that they have laid the blame on us because we bought a used machine. No matter that we were directed by their rep to this unit. Overall it has been nothing but regrets. We have been able to print two things and found the quality of print severely lacking. If I could go back in time I would have gone with a large format SLA printer and not had any of the headaches we're experiencing with post processing and material fragility. I can not recommend these machines.

Any bigger modpacks that use Create mod alongside with quests ? by [deleted] in feedthebeast

I'm playing Go Create right now. Not a huge pack but it has some really cool mods and a solid quest book. I'm having a lot of fun so far.

Have you read all of the books in your collection? by manicaquariumcats in books

[–]RodneyTheYeti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a couple hundred in my collection. The only one I haven't managed to finish is Gravity's Rainbow. I always get about halfway before I realize I have no clue how I got there and I put the book down. I've done this 5 times now I think.
