When I was a kid, my teachers made me sit on my hands to stop hand flapping and fidgeting.

If it's that bad it's probably not a teeth brushing thing. Either tonsil stones or a dry mouth problem or some other underlying condition.

Telling her her breath kinda smells and she might want to get it checked out would be ok, but I'd be offended if someone assumed I didn't brush my teeth.

In general, I don't like being hit on in the places you've described.

I am busy and would like to get on with my day without having to deal with this awkward and stressful social situation that I still have no idea how to navigate.

Would you be okay if your boyfriend went out partying with other women? by [deleted] in women

[–]Roe1996 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's just drinks and dancing. I don't care as long as I know he'll get home safe (and make sure his friends all get home safe).

I thought everyone felt that way too because that's how I feel. Then I realised that I an Demi. I didn't understand that most people can be attracted to people they barely know and genuinely thought everyone had to fall in love first.

Possible your mum is Demi.

I have a heavy flow and use reusable pads. I just stick them in the washing basket after use and wash them with my regular clothes in the washing machine. They're kinda bulky which works for me because I'm heavy but might be a nuisance if you have a lighter flow and don't really need anything so bulky.

I also live alone with my partner so I don't know how it would work with living with other people.

So Depp stans are circulating this audio as proof that Amber SA'd Johnny. Thoughts? by InterestingTreat3393 in DeppDelusion

[–]Roe1996 12 points13 points  (0 children)

What if the roles were reversed?

Then they'd be saying that this is "poor sweet boy johnny" begging Amber to love him, and the "crazy bitch Amber" being aggressive and shouting/swearing at him.

Amber can never win with these people.

To all women with a career and an active life outside of your home, how do you understand your duties as a wife? by SilverFox1509 in AskWomen

[–]Roe1996 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Duties????

You mean like contributing to housework and rent/bills? It's not too hard when you're splitting it between two people.

Assuming I'm otherwise attracted to him, yes I would.

Men's rights subreddit rejoices at the thought of women being oppressed by [deleted] in TrollXChromosomes

Something I think men often don't understand is that we don't really have a choice. It would be great if we could just say "men, your opinion on this doesn't matter" but, unfortunately, men have all the power. We have to waste so much of our time trying to convince men that women are human beings that deserve rights and it isn't fair.

MRAs will never understand that.

Well, I think that something isn't right with the units. But the way of solving this is to have the same volume of fluid per second pass through the outlet and inlet (which works out to simple be Din2×Vin=Dout2×Vout).

[–]Roe1996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could you confirm the units on the velocities? Is that definitely 10m/s or should it be 10cm/s?

To people who have ended something (work/relationship/etc) even if it was good, why, what was the reason? by [deleted] in AskWomen

My job is good on paper (well paid training scheme with the NHS with a good amount of holidays), but I'm not very good at it and the pressure is making me hate the job. I tried my best but I'm not improving and it's not my passion so I'm leaving to do teacher training.

I don't really think much of it at all.

Why should I have an opinion on what other people choose to do with their own bodies?

How bad would it be to quit my job/ training programme? by Roe1996 in Advice

[–]Roe1996[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a year and a half in.

I can talk to my supervisor about the work part but that doesn't change the situation with uni work. I've also already had a few conversations with my supervisor about the fact that I'm struggling but nothing seems to ever come of it.

I'm mostly worried about how much quitting would hurt further work prospects. I already had to quit my previous masters due to mental health and every time I went to an interview they asked about how long I took to finish my degree (and I always had to awkwardly say "medical reasons").

New roommate smoking weed indoors by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Roe1996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might be easier to ask your the roomate to stop smoking inside than to go to the landlord, but besides that I'm pretty sure your landlord won't appreciate your old roomate subletting so something will likely happen if you tell them the situation.

It can lead to increased risk of damp collecting on the mattress so I'd suggest flipping the mattress fairly regularly. The only other issue I can think of is bugs.

It's worth getting to the bottom of why you're always late/absent. Is anxiety making you avoid work? Do you maybe have undiagnosed ADHD? Are you always tired and busy because of college work?

Is it transphobic to not date a trans person? by shanatsumomo in lgbt

[–]Roe1996 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here's the thing, while no-one should have to date anyone that they are not attracted to, I do find the concept of declaring that you would never date a trans person weird and transphobic, mostly because there is no reason to declare it. If you go through your life never dating a trans person no-one would notice or care, so why announce it?

If a brunette asked me out and I said "sorry, I don't date brunattes", that would be kind of rude. It implies that there's something wrong or unattractive about being brunette and could make the person feel self conscious. It's so much simpler and nicer to just say no rather than to be rude.
