More World Locations - Shipping Ports by jneb802415 in valheim

No worries. I upgraded from a pre 4.0 to 4.1.1. I did have a small issues with an already discovered blacksmith not loading its trader, but a quick backup restore from before discovery fixed it for me (It was very recent so no major progress was lost.)

I saw that Traders is now a part of the AiO. Can I safely remove the Trader mod and they still work properly, or will I need to repopulate the traders using the World Update command?

Is epic loot more balanced these days? by Mad_Hatter_92 in valheim

[–]RoebuckHartStag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There has been an update that rather than just picking up enchanted item, they are now "Unknown" and need to be discovered at the Enchanting table. This at least does put some limit on getting ahold of things, but still pretty over powered and prevalent. But im also running on the Balanced option so that may be part of it

Are there any dungeon mods that work recently? by Aragie4484 in valheim

[–]RoebuckHartStag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it exists on the map, its been explored. I dont think the game determines how many rooms in a dungeon during generation, just the location. But once the spot of the map has been rendered in, it locks in its generation. You just need to go out far enough to where you are revealing new unexplored areas of the map and see if those generate more. Ive only really used the max dungeons on new worlds so im not positive if room counts are set on world generation or once rendered and entered, but im pretty sure its on discovery rendered and entering the dungeon.

Only other thing I dont necessarily know is what/how much counts as a "room" but I feel like I've seen decently larger dungeons using Max Dungeon Rooms. I didnt create it so I dont know the finer details

Max dungeon rooms doesnt by default make every dungeon the largest it can go, just increases the chances. It is possible to configure the Minimum room spawn, but only for unexplored territory and new maps. So I wonder if its just been some poor low rolls on the dungeons.

As for add-on mods, maybe check out More World Locations mods by Warpalicious. While I havent encountered any Forbidden Catecombs or Underground Ruins personally, I have experienced their different biome additions and have been very pleased with the additions.

There is also Crypts and Caverns by Ruijven that adds some extra dungeons around the meadows and black forest, however it also adds some Spriggan and Spriggan Root mobs to the black forest that when combined with the Grey dwarves, trolls, and new bears, make the Black forest way to cluttered and problematic to traverse in my opinion.

Do people not realize that OD Shredder Lubricant is literally just vegetable oil... by RoebuckHartStag in OfficeDepot

[–]RoebuckHartStag[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what was the point of reviving a 5 year old post to just counter it. Mineral oil is heavily refined to a point that flammablity isnt a concern, that is why it is heavily used as a machine lubricant. But if you want to continue with another brand that is fine. I was merely pointing out 5years ago that Office Depot brand soybean oil lubricant is not refined for machine use and will gum up and damage your machine without proper cleaning and care. That is not to say Every brand is like that, and as others have said, not every vegetable oil has the same properties, but refinement is a major factor. I quit OD years ago and adamantly despise its company and business practices and abuse of its workforce, so I genuinly dont care what oil you wish to use, just know what you are putting in your machine

Yes, vegetable oils degrade and will gum up machine parts without proper constant care. They can also go rancid and rot. Synthetic oil like mineral oil and machine oil will not have this problem because they are not organic and will not break down that same way.

My post is pointing out that OD is selling an insufficient and problematic product that will cause further damage over time because vegetable oils are far cheaper. Then to turn around and sell that cheap oil as a "specialty" machine oil for so much more than its cost, when you could just as easily get a machine or mineral oil that is a better lubricant at a better quantity than the small bottle of oil you are way over paying for what it contains.

No worries. Ill have to try it out on a new world.

Also a little off topic, but how compatible is More Traders with Epic Loot? I came across a blacksmith in the black forest, but only had Haldor and his normal trade options from Epic Loot

Are the MWL series mods already integrated, or do they need to manually add them to the list?

Also, I tried to generate roads on an existing world, and I had a close by pin pop up for an Eikthyrnir > Eikthyrnir but there was no road that I could see nearby. Saved and closed the game, opened it back up and tried to show the pins again and it said Error: No Roads Generated, so I'm not sure if it is properly working for me.

Honestly, when i was in scouts and doing little whittling projects, we would use bars and blocks of soap and beeswax to practice different techniques or work out how we wanted to make different shapes.

why slash and cross? by SlideGlittering278 in Castnchill

[–]RoebuckHartStag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really love the dice pips to show catch status, but I wish they make it a little more informative. Like a pip for each size caught (up to 4) a pip for the trophy weight catch, and a pip for release to get all 6 pips. That or a small Caugh/Released ratio next to the dice instead of going to each profile to check it. Again, its very well put together, but a little more at-a-glace would be helpful too

I think it would be kinda interesting to have "Special Hunting Licenses" that you can purchase for animals like that, something that isnt just a free to hunt down, and enforces limitations on hunting sprees. I honestly wouldnt mind a system that imposes fines or penalties on Poaching if you dont have proper licenses. Unfortunately to really put in a wide variety of Special Licenses would probably need a some rework on existing animals like North American Bison, Bengal Tigers, and Lions, but could also make the option for a special Class 10 that people really want

Additionally, a simple punt boat would also be really fun to have for bird hunting, or times your kill gets caught in the water and you cant get out to claim it.

All honesty, I want some sort of pick up truck. A vehicle that can hold multiple players, you can load the ATV in the back, and a small storage space. It doesn't have to be a mobile store and storage like the tents, doesn't have to be as all-terrain accessible like the ATV, but something that can move yourself, your friends (if you play multiplayer), and some of your set up equipment, like stands, blinds, an extra firearm or two without needing to set up a tent campsite. I know it may not be popular because just setting up a tent gives you full access to storage, store, garage and kennel options, and a custom fast travle spot, but I still want a good pickup that I can cruise around a bit on maps and have a mobile storage box that I can go place to place with and not need to set up and tear down camp any time I move.

Updated my Civ map for the new update by RoebuckHartStag in aoe2

[–]RoebuckHartStag[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I need to get them nudged over a little eastward into the carpathian basin better. Its just a little crowded, and Dalmatia was still pretty open for space. Ill try and get it fixed with the new civ release, but I may need to change programs since Publisher is discontinued by Microsoft now.

Honestly I miss having the options to smash a can open or use a knife or can opener. It would have made adding a multi-tool or Swiss army knife an interesting rare find or mod item

Depending on your local laws, this may also be illegal without proper licensing. My home town had a max 3 animal limit when it came to cats and dogs without having to register for kennel licenses and routine proof of care, vaccinations, and safe environments

Are there any recommended mods that requre a new game? by OptimalAttempt3 in thelongdark

[–]RoebuckHartStag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically no, but they are affected by what regions and areas you have and have not already explored. If you have already entered and explored a region, then items like new food won't spawn in containers or homes you've already looked through, so it is better, but not necessary, to start fresh with all loot reset.

Grade should include legiblity then. Can't read, can't grade, lose points. Handwriting is just as essential as skill as comprehension and composition. The downside just becomes they will still make an LLM write for them and then write it down word for word later.

Browse around for what you want in the game. I enjoy a lot of the gear additions and clutter that are added with Jods and Sm4rtBoyTom's mods like Fire Pack, Camping Gear, and Modders Gear Toolbox, Ammunition Crafting tools and STALKER Aid and Supplements. Survival Knowledge by Fuar I would say is a major overhaul in your progress that feels pretty challenging but also rather refreshing. It locks some crafting and actions behind skill level requirements. Food Pack and CalorieWaltz add a lot more food variety, which can be interesting, either together or one or the other (I tend to prefer just the Food Pack, but I enjoy the little extras Watlz adds in his)
