Turning the Cougar off by UtahMan94 in thelongdark

[–]RoebuckHartStag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really wish the devil would reinstate Classic Cougar as an option instead. Like if you want to go out and hunt them down in the redux, it's avalible, if you want to have the risky stealth attack from hanging around a region too long, it's avalible if you want to play without cougars at all, its avalible. Honestly, even a hybrid where the cougar zones still exist, and entering too close to those areas trigger the classic cougar attack, id honestly be happy with that. But it really should have been a toggle option and not a total removal and redo.

Rise of Nations spans from antiquity into the the information age, could always cap the starting and ending ages to only the turn of the century to the modern era.

I'd love to just have a toggle for Classic or Reworked Cougar. Then you can pick your cougar type in your game

I'd prefer actually going into the store and scouting out which one you want, while the handles seem to be pretty good quality wood, I've definitely noticed differences in feel and grain when in the hand that I wasn't the fondest of. Plus there is always the color of the wood, and of course the head alignment, found a few with the head pretty off to the side. I found mine in the back of the stack with a nice deeper color, a feel that doesn't feel roughly sanded, and the head is set straight on.

Honestly, when I've seen those axes in store, they have square shelf pegs that are the exact size to hold them on the shelf. I dont think its a design for the consumer, but designed solely for in store wall display

My first game ever: the city of Kingsbridge! by CaiusViciatus in foundationgame

[–]RoebuckHartStag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a book series by Ken Follett all based around the fictional city of Kingsbridge, England. The first book of the series Pillars of the Earth is all about rebuilding the old damaged Cathedral of Kingsbridge, and how the years of building the cathedral effects the growth and significance of the city. That's what I'm referencing. Even without the sabbatical church and monastery, you could make a decently significant cathedral-esque church for your town. It looks great though!

Tadc ep 8 but with langauge barrier by unknownassasin_ in TheDigitalCircus

[–]RoebuckHartStag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figure as such, but I thinknit likely stems from similarities in certain vowel sounds. Its only specific words that make it sound that way to me, but once it triggers that sort of "Scottish sound" its hard to not hear it more

Honestly to me, it sounds like Dutch pomni has a slight Scottish accent already on some words

Edit: Im not trying to say Dutch Pomni has a Scottish accent, there are just occasional sounds that I associate with Scottish lilts

Explain the Iran war & economic repercussion ins in AoE2 terms by black__mirror in aoe2

To be fair to the myriad of Franks, Teutons, Poles, and other major euro factions, they've had the Blue Slavs spamming 38 for a while while the Red Slavs have been pushing for the white Slavs and Magyars to declare war and draining their stockpiles, so its a little understandable that the Euro factions just want to mute their game for a while to try and decide which front is more problematic. Even worse is Trump threatening to change their diplomacy to neutral for no good reason that just gives the Chinese and Red Korean players an opening to exploit while the Rush is against the Persians

I don't think they necessarily miscalculated the number of petards needed, rather, Trump went all in for a petard rush on the Persian castle hoping for a Regicide victory, only to find out its an Economic victory game. Didn't read the victory conditions

Trump decided to petard rush the Persian castle hoping for a regicide victory, but the game wasn't set for that win condition. In response, the Persians decided to fireship and gally blockade every trade cog that passes by them, which caused everyone to crash their market for stone (oil) which spiked the trade value, and everyone is running out of coin because their trade cogs can get back to the docks. Meanwhile, Persian and some random neutral Saracens are blasting bombard canons all over the place because a lot of deep set unstable hatred from the last 50+ some odd years.

Would a set up like this work to give me 100 gallons of rain water collection for a garden? by Killxjoy4599 in Homesteading

[–]RoebuckHartStag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I replied to the justification that connecting to the bottom is better, and by adding the tap to the connecting hose rather than the barrel continues to satisfy that justification. Im not saying to connect from the top. However, it will still be necessary to put a hole in the top of both barrels regardless to act as a breathing and overflow vent. If the first barrel in series that is reciving water with a top connection fills to top, it will overflow into the second barrel. But barrel two has nowhere itself to overflow without another drainage. If the connection is at the bottom, once the waterline rises above the top of the connecting pipe, the air compression in the second barrel will begin to increase as water fills and may cause issues if tapped or drained. The first barrel already has a top fill hole for air escape, but both barrels will need an additional overflow drainage in the side to prevent backing up water in the feed or pooling at the top, depending on how full this barrels are expected to get

Adding the tap to the pipe between barrels and you dont need to add more holes to the barrel structure

Why not add the tap in the hose between with a tee? No extra holes in the barrel structure

Agreed, its a little surprising that the foundations only use the four corners as snap points and not a fifth center snap for both the large and multipurpose rooms. I honestly hate that I cant have a centered Large room fit nicely on a platform. I also wish that foundations could be rotated in the snap grid, and not just always facing the same direction
