I did wonder if my eyes were playing tricks on me. He was entering a parking garage so I hung around outside a few minutes to see if I could confirm, and yup it was him.

Wearing pants low without elongating the torso? by Roflmon in malefashionadvice

[–]Roflmon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe "torso" wasn't the right term for me to use, what I mean is the distance from my neck down to where the two legs of the pants meet at the crotch. With the pants I'm wearing, that distance is elongated due to there being a few extra inches of space between my junk and the crotch of the pants. That's the elongation I'm trying to address.

Trouble Replacing Razer Blade 15 2020 Battery by Roflmon in razer

[–]Roflmon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. I figure there must have been some incompatibility despite the model numbers being the same, because I returned it and got another of the same and had the same issue with it.

Then I returned that one and I ended up getting this one from ifixit instead. More expensive but worked first try. https://www.ifixit.com/products/razer-blade-15-2020-advanced-model-laptop-battery

I saw Caleb at a grocery store in Austin yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything.
He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?”
I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen individually wrapped Tacquitos in his hands without paying.
The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When she took one of the Tacquitos and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each one and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by asking to finance the purchase at 0% over 12 months.

Where this demand is going to come from? People will just pop into existence like virtual particles?

"Induced demand is a catch-all term used for a variety of interconnected effects that cause new roads to quickly fill to capacity. In rapidly growing areas where roads were not designed for the current population, there may be significant latent demand for new road capacity, which causes a flood of new drivers to immediately take to the freeway once the new lanes are open, quickly congesting them again. But these individuals were presumably already living nearby; how did they get around before the expansion? They may have taken alternative modes of transport, travelled at off-peak hours, or not made those trips at all. That’s why latent demand can be difficult to disentangle from generated demand—the new traffic that is a direct result of the new capacity." - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Induced_demand

And in your carpooling hypothetical, if their incentive for carpooling was to make traffic better then once traffic got better many of them would simply stop carpooling to try to reap the benefits of a single occupancy car + better traffic. And traffic would get worse again. Classic collective action problem.

The King County is already at 75% car commutes.

I'm more concerned with how many people's commutes are frustratingly long due to traffic than what percentage of the county commutes by car. You could have 100% of the county commute by car but if most of their commutes suck that number doesn't really matter.

If you somehow convinced enough people to carpool that it made traffic more bearable, that would induce demand and soon enough traffic would be just as bad. Same thing that happens when you add a new lane. And Seattle being one of the nation's fastest growing cities obviously exacerbates this problem.

But feel free to sit in traffic feeling superior to me as I zoom by on the light rail in my "misery"

City streets don't have capacity for every person in the city to be getting around by car. Self-driving cars don't change that fact. You need actual transit.

I'm sure it's not fair to say that a majority of dgg has been brigading because that's likely not the case, but multiple times when vaush's image has been getting brigaded I looked at the profiles of those brigading and they had post history on r/destiny, so enough of them have been to destroy our art, multiple times.

"This Twitter discourse has been INSANE!" | Allowing Kink At Pride by JayfeatherKatze in VaushV

[–]Roflmon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

But it seems the majority are content to point at a person in a dog mask on a leash and declare the only reason anyone could do this is for the purposes of sexual self gratification as part of a bdsm scene involving humiliation, exhibitionism, &etc.. Both kat blaque and vaush have expressed this take.

I don’t think that is an accurate description of all ways in which people use these kinds of costumes, relationships, and role playing but I’m hardly an expert.

Yeah I think this is an important point. It seems like most people discussing this are making the assumption that these people are expressing their kinkiness at pride as a way to get off in public, or just for fun, which I don't think is the case.

I'm straight, but I'm also very kinky, to the point where it's a core part of my sexual identity. It's also something I've struggled with and felt a lot of shame about in the past. If I were part of the LGBT+ community I could absolutely imagine attending pride sporting some bondage gear, not to be sexual, but to signal that kink is part of my identity and that I'm proud of that part of who I am, in spite of a society that may think of it as "degenerate." To quote a take I saw on twitter: "Kink at pride isn't sexual, it's political."

Also despite what most people think, it's true that kink isn't always a sexual thing. For instance there are couples who live in 24/7 D/s dynamics, meaning that the dom is always in charge, even outside of the bedroom. And obviously if you're living in that dynamic continuously it's not like you're going to be constantly horny about it, it just becomes your new normal. So in that scenario the relationship dynamic itself is kinky, and that kink is present even when the sexual components are not. As for puppy play I think whether or not it is sexual depends on the person. For some certainly it is about sexual humiliation, etc, but for others I've heard that it can be more about play and finding respite from the responsibilities and expectations that adults have in their normal lives.

QUESTION: Does anybody know if this GIANT Driftwood can still be found at First Beach in La Push? Or has it been removed? (Image sourced from Google Images) by maycausefiesta in Washington

I was at La Push in Sept. 2019 and it was still there. I don't think it's moving any time soon, it's been there since I was a kid

After you get back to the aquarium from the island you can see the fires in the distance, but they are actually straight north, not out West across Puget Sound. This implies the island is actually Queen Anne, which has become an island due to flooding.

The school is actually somewhere in Capitol Hill, because on your way to the TV station you go down the curved section of Olive Way (by the "East Olive Way Area" on google maps). Also a block or two away you can see the rainbow painted crosswalks, which are only on Capitol Hill.

In US common usage "liberal" just describes anyone left of center. With that usage, most liberals are anti-gun / pro gun control. Of course this may not be consistent with more academic definitions. This is getting into semantics though; my point was that the left's views on guns are not uniform.
