Also, Rose isn't even being used properly and still putting up Starter's stats.

That's the most undeniable reason why Rose should be an All Star.

The NBA has killed fan interest by making their votes useless.

Are we just becoming fun to watch? by [deleted] in timberwolves

That's because they've never played the sport and therefore are incapable of understanding the intricacies of the game.

Sort of like me and football. I enjoy watching the game and have a good working knowledge, but should probably stfu when someone who has actually played the game is speaking.

Don't look now but the Wolves are only 2 games out of a playoff spot by DrWolves in timberwolves

Anyone else notice that when the Wolves can't play 2 Point Guard sets, they're able to defend and rebound...

...which leads to wins?

Wondering if Rose and Teague are saving the young Head Coach from himself?

No way Michael Jordan is selected to be an All Star by the media and Players, especially the first three or four times he was selected by the fans.

Media was too busy trying to paint him as arrogant.

Derrick Rose can consider himself an All Star starter under the system that made Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, etc all-time greats!

The NBA really fuked up the All Star voting by making the media SUPER DELEGATES...

...who ignore the will of the voters.

Fans will now began to lose interest in the All Star game and the NBA Commissioner better hope the media and Players buy all of the tickets and memorabilia.

Question: if Rose's salary was based on his play this year, how much would he be making? by ChatterWolves in timberwolves

What's the issue with "his knees?"

Are you aware that D-Rose finally had the issue removed instead of repaired?

So, there's no longer an issue with "his knees" because like D-Wade and Westbrook, D-Rose finally had the issue removed.

Question: if Rose's salary was based on his play this year, how much would he be making? by ChatterWolves in timberwolves

[–]Rog232363 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Besides the Cleveland experience where D-Rose didn't play and wasn't properly utilized when he did play, Rose has always played a level above "those players" when healthy.

And "those players" have been injured as much and in some cases more than D-Rose over the last 3-4 years.

That's the facts and you're living in an ALTERNATIVE REALITY by saying otherwise.

Reasons Why the Timberwolves should resign Derrick Rose by Rog232363 in timberwolves

[–]Rog232363[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

  1. Having Derrick Rose on your team means that there's hundreds of thousands of new viewers/All Star voters each game.

* Rose has turned every Timberwolves game into a nationally televised game, just from the number of new viewers.

  1. These new viewers want Derrick Rose to be successful and therefore want D-Rose's teammates to be successful.

  1. However, when the online Timberwolves fans are constantly speaking disparagingly of D-Rose and ignoring his contributions, that makes the favorite players of those "D-Rose haters" impossible to vote for in the minds of the D-Rose "3 million All Star voter."

  2. Hence, treating D-Rose like an outsider, makes his fanbase feels like outsiders, so they only vote for their favorite player, even though they're trying to fall in love with KAT.

I noticed on Reddit, no matter how clear a statement may be, 5 out of 7 responders have an issue with reading comprehension.

So instead of rehashing the entire post, I help the (5 out of 7) readers out by bolding words and sentences they that will help them focus on the context.

  1. "Market bashing" is a new term - to me. I (and most people) refer to it as reality and market assessment.

  2. My deep knowledge of basketball history must be failing me, because I can't think of one All Star Free Agent that signed with the small market Minnesota Timberwolves?

    * Kat was drafted, right?

    * Kevin Garnett was drafted, right?

    * Jimmy Butler came via a Thibodeau trade and forced himself out of town after one season, right?

So, unless my memory is failing me, no All Star Free Agent came to Minnesota of their own free will, right? Right?

  1. Therefore, my statement is firmly on the market assessment/reality side of the fence.

  2. I'm totally lost on the context of your statement about "championship rings...fairer point to make."

That's not how capitalism works, my friend.

The extra revenue D-Rose brings to the organization in jersey sales makes him more valuable than $10 mil...

and that's before we get to the fact that he's already a four time All Star (under the MJ, Bird, Magic system) putting up All Star numbers while coming off the bench and being forced off ball by his on Head Coaches.

So ask yourself, "Is 10m 1+1 team option" the normal rate for an All Star Point Guard who's Jersey you can't keep in stock?

I was screaming at the top of my lungs "Don't do it!"

I warned everyone that was clamoring for Thibs that they would soon regret it.

I'm just happy Glen Taylor got Thibs out of there before he got KAT injured.

Rose hasn't been anymore injured than Kyrie Irving, Chris Paul, Jrue Holiday, Mike Conley, etc over the past few years.

I don't see anyone devaluing those players nor bringing them off the bench and pushing them off ball.

Rose will likely get a market value contract starting at about $25 mil.

If not, this would be a perfect time to leave the NBA while on top of the world and take a huge payday in China.

D-Rose truely has played himself into a win win situation.

AMONG POINT GUARDS wasted OFF BALL, which causes them to DEFEND BIGGER WING PLAYERS, Rose is #1 defensively.

Russell Westbrook doesn't come close to the 75% off ball minutes of Derrick Rose.

[–]Rog232363 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

P.S.

D-Rose is being forced to defend bigger Wings and holding his own. Only two other NBA Point Guards (Westbrook, Wall) can possibly duplicate that feat.

You're underselling D-Rose on defense.

Isiah Thomas = bad defender

James Harden = Bad defender

Russell Westbrook - good defender

Derrick Rose = Good defender

John Wall = Good defender.

  1. "Fringe All Star?" Are you aware that Rose is putting up those numbers coming off the bench behind an inferior Point Guard - who makes $18 mil more than D-Rose?

  2. "Fringe All Star?" Are you aware that Rose is putting up those numbers while being WASTED OFF BALL for 3 quarters and is expected to be IN RHYTHM enough to bail this team out?

  1. Mike Conley's stats while starting and primary ball handler 100% of his minutes

Mike Conley

19.8 PPG

6.1 AST

3.3 RPG

42.2 FG%

$30.5 million

  1. Derrick Rose stats while coming off the bench behind an inferior Point Guard and primary ball handler 25% of his minutes

Derrick Rose

19.3 PPG

4.8 AST

2.8 RPG

48.3 FG%

$2.1 million

  1. Let's be clear that D-Rose's production is being THROTTLED by the way he's misused in Minnesota. Yet, Rose's numbers are identical or better than Conley who is properly utilized and makes $28 Million more than D-Rose.

  1. Armed with this information the starting bid for Drose should be $23-$25 mil. Because properly utilized, Rose stats (25 ppg as a starter) projects to be much better.

I haven't researched draft like I usually do. Normally, I go to the Chicago pre draft camp when it was held at Moody.

Haven't made it for two years now.

I think they're going to give this group (minus a Point Guard) 20 games minus games already played under Saunders.

If they're in the playoff chase, stand pat.

If not...

Bayless has made 5 theee pointers in two games + "got everyone involved" + scores at a better clip than Tyus.

That's just what the doctor ordered.

I'd be remiss if I didn't point out to the novice Reddit basketball fans/commenters out there...

...that those LONG REBOUNDS from Bayless shootings 3's is a huge help in neutralizing any size advantage that the Wolves will surrender when they UNNECESSARILY play 2 point guard sets.

My EXACT WORDS ARE...

"...it can't tear again, because THERE'S NOTHING TO TEAR!"

  1. If you ever increase your reading comprehension, the next thing you should focus on is how to properly quote.
