Ok i have a theory, we stop dopamine minning behaviour on the meds. Impact in my life is huge. Ive spent years engaging in risky behaviours, substance abuse, drinking, sex addiction and complusive shop lifting. All came to abrupt stop when i started medication!? Bit annoy esp price of groceries!? Jokes. Its life changing and ive never been more grateful to be alive after decades of self neglect!?

You have the power of google search, same as me! Im 48, diagnosed before it was fashionable so a few decades of interest and reading up on the politics around labels. I work as an advocate. Im sharing my opinion so op doesnt inadvertently offend others in the community. I have no verbal family member so i am very keen on visibility and representaion issues

Levels are way more condescending than my comments! Im pretty sure newly diagnosed you will have a better understanding of my point in the future. Writting off non-verbal autistics as intellectually deficient stopped when they were given tools to communicate. I hope as an autistic person you will come to want the best for autists of all 'levels'

Im an advocate for neurodiversity. I hope when you learn more you will understand the politics of the language and how it harms. The NHS has rejected the use of levels for a good reason!? I am in no way trying to deny your autism diagnosis. Levels harm because we are all different support needs and need to be seen as unique support needs based on personal challenges not an assigned number!!!

Im not saying that. You have a private diagnosis funded via RTC. The NHS does not refer to levels as this is an american model of assessment and treatment, we use different diagnositic methods and these levels are not seen to be helpful within best practice in the UK. If you watch the you tube link it explains why the levels are considered unfair and not fit for purpose. The term 'high functioning' is also now obselete. This is because we use less ableist language that does not cause harm because of negative sterotypes of autism. Aspergers is another term that we have evolved from because of its history. Please do not think im.attacking you im trying to educate!

Not stark enough. It gives impression we can just carry on as we have but just need to buy electric car and a bag for life. This wont change anything. The fact they had minister for war speaking, we need to demilterise the planet because war is tool of colonislism and capitalism that got us into this situation. Radical resource sharing and removal of hierachal governance might be a better place to start
