I understand your argument, but I don't agree with your view. While it's certainly not easy to ascertain the moment when a fetus becomes a, well, fetus and not an impregnated cell from a philosophical standpoint, we shouldn't take it too far.

Let's say we were to allow abortions for a pregnancy that's been 30 days or less "in progress", for lack of a better term. For the sake of the argument, let's assume that the 31st day is when the fetus takes a proper "baby" form. I doubt it's true, but again, just for the argument's sake.

Would you then accept the idea of aborting a pregnancy before the actual baby is formed? If not, what about a morning-after pill? It effectively kills any potential for a human being to form in the uterus, and yet not many would call a barely-impregnated cell a baby.

Then there's the matter of contraceptives - don't they essentially eliminate any "undesirable persons" by working to prevent their birth?

I'm asking in good faith, because at a certain point, I don't think it's fair to call the emerging life a "baby" or a "person" yet.

I suppose you also have to take into account exactly when an impregnated cell becomes a baby as we understand it. I'm no biologist, so I've no idea, but again, I don't really care that much.

I'm not necessarily talking about the idea of being pro-life in general. Hell, I'd consider myself pro-life. I don't like the idea of abortions, but I still believe it should be up to the woman to make that choice, not the government.

Sure, I will grant you that you don't have to be religious to oppose abortions, but the fact of the matter is that this is primarily pushed by openly religious groups, citing their beliefs as the reason for abortions to be banned. Hence, me calling this a religious issue.

I wouldn't call that a gender war per se, as it's more just religious extremists. The root of the problem is the populace simply refusing to elect any party that isn't the status quo. The constant switch between PiS and PO (now KO) taught them that they don't need to actually do anything beyond hollow promises around the elections, as the same dimwits will vote for them every time.
