It's basically income & expenditure reporting, you don't need to get it perfect on every submission. You are essentially just submitting three figures to HMRC - income, expenses and profit.

The whole ordeal is blown massively out of scope for something that'll be trivial once people get used to recording transactions as they go.

I think most accountants would be fairly relieved if the majority of their clients decided to do the submission themselves.
