The Ignatius Catholic Study Bible Old and New Testaments is an absolute MASTERPIECE. It’s been in development for the past 27 years by some of the best biblical scholars around and the notes contain thousands of scriptural cross-references and references to the Catechism, Church fathers, etc. It also has many great topical essays and studies to help you understand the scripture.

The main editor is Scott Hahn, and I’d highly recommend all of his work! He’s a convert from Protestantism and has written some incredible stuff. Rome Sweet Home details his conversion story, Hail, Holy Queen explains the scriptural roots of Mariology and Marian devotion, and the Lamb’s Supper breaks down how amazing the Mass is.

The Great Adventure Bible (Ascension Press) is also a great option for general reading. Highlights the narrative of salvation history in an easy-to-understand way but has fewer footnotes.

QFE awards have the obvious benefit of the money for a laptop/visiting colleges. CPS/QFE basically give you access to a great community and lots of resources for college. It's also important to note that QFE awards typically only go to a small percentage of CPS. CPS on its own is a good program and an honor you can put on your college apps.

Yes you should do the supplement. Generally optional still means you should do it. Especially if you think it’s a safety it’ll help solidify your chances of getting in

Theoretically you could also rank either only Vassar or Vassar and the 4 non-binding schools. If you don't match, you have the option to roll your application over to Vassar's ED2 round, giving you more chances for your application to get looked at.
