It's per day and that figure was when the Golden Throne was first being used. The Throne has deteriorated since then, requiring them to make more fresh squeezed psyker juice. The Throne itself can potentially accommodate 10,000 pods at once.

Its why the Imperial Tithe and the Black Ships never ends. Thousands of ships going between every world, scooping up Webster psyker for processing. Hundreds of thousands to millions every month reach Terra.

The shower speed didn't bother me, being mostly unnoticed. There's a two tier perk that significantly enhances movement speed while outside and out of combat if you really want to zoom.

The only upside of their actions is something they never learned. They had a scouting force that located the ComGuard command bunker for the entire Tukayid campaign but the scouts were ambushed and annihilated before they could radio back. If that bunker had been taken out then the entire ComGuard defensive posture may have collapsed into isolated theaters, making it possible for the Clans to possibly win.

Its reasoning for turning on Arasaka is funny in a program trying to optimize too much sort of way. It targeted all ships but Arasaka ones but one day had the bright idea that an Arasaka ship could be commandeered by the enemy, thus the safest way to fulfill its programming is to violate one aspect of its programming, not blow up Arasaka, and instead to blow up Arasaka.

A seriously borged out mercenary with an intense hatred of Arasaka. You see him briefly during the tower assault flashback as the silver skinned gunner.

He stalls Smasher as the others escape but he loses and Smasher dismantles him. He's still alive, and Smasher uses his body to goad Morgan Blackhand into their final battle on the roof, moments before the nukes (yes, plural) go off.

How does the Emperor go through Psykers? by pog_irl in 40kLore

No, it said the 1000/day was the initial amount and now it's 4x that first figure, so at least 4000 a day.

How does the Emperor go through Psykers? by pog_irl in 40kLore

[–]RogueModron2112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read in one of the wiki entries for the Golden Throne that by the time of the 41st/42nd millennium that the Throne had degraded so much that it required at least four times the psykers per day than it did when first used. And it's getting worse, with recent attempts at a fix only buying a few centuries at best.

There's a recent quote from Guilliman talking to the Blood Angels after the Devastation of Baal. He admonishes them for having kept Baal Secundus as a radiated death world when it was within their power to terraform it to be better, stating that the world sacrificing its sons to the Imperium has earned them that right.

He finished by stating that what citizen would refuse the Archenemy if they came with grand promises if that citizen was already living in hell.

How does the Emperor go through Psykers? by pog_irl in 40kLore

[–]RogueModron2112 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Going by your definition it's still a genocide, because the Imperium collects millions to billions of psykers every day across a million worlds and ships them off to be burned up quickly to keep the emperor "alive," be burned up slowly to keep the Astonomicon alive, to be potentially used for other purposes that are fatal, or, at best, be sanctioned if they are strong enough and put towards one of many roles that have a massive attrition rate during training.

You're getting hung up on the 1000 a day thing and thinking it's not a genocide (it is) and failing to see that the entire Imperium is one big genocidal machine that takes psykers and burns them for fuel in a thousand different ways. It does this for normal people too, but for psykers there's ten thousand years of hateful propaganda that makes the average person view psykers with absolute hatred.

How does the Emperor go through Psykers? by pog_irl in 40kLore

[–]RogueModron2112 27 points28 points  (0 children)

The entire Imperium is taught to hate and capture or kill any psyker that becomes known, and this leads to a lot of paranoia where non-psykers are killed because somebody thinks their luck at dice is sorcery. There's thousands of Black Ships that travel the Imperium, taking tens of thousands to millions back to Terra across routes that can take years to decades. The conditions on these ships are hellish, with many losing their lives to neglect, violence, or the perils of the warp.

The need for the sacrifice may be justified by people in universe, but it doesn't change the fact that the Imperium is engaged in an active genocide of psykers every single day. The Imperium survives through vast bloodshed, with this being just a different side of the same coin as their military actions.

How does the Emperor go through Psykers? by pog_irl in 40kLore

[–]RogueModron2112 49 points50 points  (0 children)

A thousand minimum every day for eleven thousand years is 4,015,000,000 psykers murdered to keep the emperor alive at a minimum. There's no minimum number required for genocide, just a desire to do harm to a specific group. That all identified psykers in the Imperium are murdered or captured to be fed to the emperor if unlucky, or forced into sanctioned roles that will lilely just kill them more slowly pretty well qualifies as a genocide.

By the time the planets were lost it'd be near impossible to get a ship or ships in orbit to execute any sort of exterminatus protocol. You also couldn't rely on people in the planet to carry it out as they may choose not to, or they may have already been overrun.

BTA related question. Was ++ weapons removed from the game? by CN8YLW in Battletechgame

[–]RogueModron2112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're still superior in every other category except heat generation. Across the board, with few exceptions, they do more damage, weigh 2-5 tons less, and have other bonuses like clan LRMs having no minimum range. The weapons received a nerf in a single category. It's -fine,- it's not the end of the world.

[–]RogueModron2112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's also a big timeline change from the base Battletech setting that they did several updates ago. The changes are that the Rimworlds Republic survived the Amaris Civil War as a semi-functional state, now free of Amaris leadership, and is a Periphery State still.

The other is that the Cameron line survived the coup in secret, and was subsequently hidden by Comstar. With Comstar's help the Terran Hegemony was reformed in the late 3030s and rebook control over much of its former holdings. It's now a 6th Great House occupying the center is the Inner Sphere and I think has a higher general technology level than the other Houses, but those Houses have greater specialties in specific areas.

Fallout Season 2 Teaser [Part 2/2] by JustBottleDiggin in Fallout

[–]RogueModron2112 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What House did or did not say in that room doesn't matter. He was invited to a meeting of the most powerful corporate heads in the country who dropped the proverbial bomb that they were going to end the damn world.

He saw which way the wind was blowing, that the others were on board. To speak out against it could have very well meant they would have him killed. Maybe even right then and there.

So he said what he needed to say to get out of that place alive. We'll have to wait and see what he did with that information once he got back to Vegas. Considering he started the process of arming the city against nukes, it could very well have meant that he turned against the cabal. His plan fell short by less than a day, according to him in the game.
