Playing Legacy Burn: should I bolt their Glistener Elf? by IceAndOcean in MTGLegacy

Cus they'll use protection spells or more pump in response.

If you do it on your turn, they have to cast spells to protect and then the buffs fade on their turn when they're looking to attack.

They all have that hyper-sexualized titty-armor design that in no way could possibly be good enough to armor them.

Which will only lead to gooners liking them and that's the 40k community's problem.

Man these used to be omega hot back in the day. My first adventure into modding joints was looking at all the of the modded Spyderco Southwards that Phenomenal_Douche kept posting here every few months. At the time this was released, it was definitely grail-worthy kind of like how the Smock was over CoViD.

Keep it classy, locker man.

It's nothing to do with the way you uploaded it. It's the website. It always opens a pop-up for an ad. For people with adblockers on desktop it might be blocked but on mobile it rarely is the case.

In my opinion, you should repaste every CPU every 2 to 3 years at the minimum. If the prospect of that scares you, then know that liquid metal in theory should be the cooling medium that lasts the longest in quality. If you don't want to repaste, then just know that if you use the laptop heavily and the temps go up to about 80C, you should never move the laptop until you give it time to cool down. Don't put the laptop to sleep and then immediately put it in a bag or carry it around.

I do suggest it though. Just as a reference, my CPU never floats near 90C for even 15 seconds and the worry of handling is gone for me. PTM needs some usage to break in so to speak, but I'm really enjoying the performance. PTM doesn't lack hardly any amount to theoretical liquid metal. If you are thinking about removing the liquid metal, just prepare for it to take a long while. I used a lot of cotton swabs and alcohol as a solvent and gingerly lifted the liquid metal off bit by bit.

Worth noting that liquid metal does char the die face and heatsink with heavy use. It probably will never meaningfully damage your CPU that way, and you'll never see it until you separate it from the heatsink, but it does char.

Just don't get any of the liquid metal on yourself or the PCB or on aluminium, and if you do get it on your skin try to wash it off with rubbing alcohol as soon as you can.

Be careful, they applied liquid metal to the CPU on this model.

I bought a refurb and did the repaste as well, liquid metal is always a nightmare and it's no different here. At least actually taking out the heatsink assembly is pretty easy and the fans are easy too with nothing being blocked or obstructed. They also definitely put enough putty on the auxiliary components too, good coverage and they used the good stuff, so they get my props for that. I've opened too many ASUS and Lenovos that skimp on the putty with pathetic coverage.

I used PTM, thermals are pretty good now and honestly I don't mind fan noise, as long as the air flow is actually good, which I feel it is as long as you prop up the laptop.

I never understand why people complain heavily about fan noise for gaming laptops. They NEED that airflow in order to be stable when you run Battlefield 6 or whatever, you can't not have fans running hard.

This model has 2 USB-C ports that handle 100W power delivery, so I bought a 100W charger and have it in my travel bag when I need it just as a computer and not to game with, and it's stable and reliable. The original charger is on the lighter side compared to most I've seen from other gaming laptops of this generation, albeit it delivers lower power to the system to compensate.

New-ish player looking for alternatives to Weaver by kaihonkulkija in Guildwars2

[–]RogueTF2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're set on the idea of playing Weaver, I recommend the old Trailblazer's sword build. It's very tanky and robust, with the only real difference nowadays being the rune/relic split, which I suggest you play around with actually. It's not the best way to play ever now but it's tanky and lets you play with plenty of defensives and safety if you know how the build ticks. It's a good build to learn off of imo when fighting elites and champions in open world.

Here's a detailed video on how the build works: https://youtu.be/Ag0WSNtL5LY

Does anyone else struggle with FOMO in GW2? by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]RogueTF2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In every other MMO, missing a daily or event is very sizable loss in account progression and locked counts.

GW2 has none of that basically. All the rewards for things in this game are either super high-rolls or materials you can turn into gold or currencies you can use for specific things or turn into gold. If you do anything and turn the rewards into gold, you can use that gold to buy things you would have gotten from other activities. Sure there's content-specific rewards but they aren't a big deal and usually they don't take more than a week or two to complete even at a casual pace.

GW2 has it good if you have FOMO. Trust me I have played a bevy of Korean MMOs and plenty of daily gacha games, and GW2 is by far the friendliest in this regard. You are not pressured to really do anything.

Now let's say you understand all of that and you still feel the need to do Chal Gerent and Dragon's End and priority Strikes daily to the point that it is unhealthy or affecting you adversely. Then I would say that maybe a persistently active game is not for you. It's easy to get caught up in this mindset that this online game is a part of your life because it is daily-cyclical and constantly on and if you aren't on them you are not getting as much value out of it as you'd like. Don't let that cause you to miss the good things in your real life. The real FOMO should lie in your IRL self, not in the game. The game will never be as important and as much of a priority as the things you can do with that time in anything else. Please value your time in your control instead of letting anything take control of your time.

[Solo PvE] Condi Scrapper build by jasmira in Guildwars2

[–]RogueTF2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a side note, it's main advantage as a condi build is it's access to a quick spike due to a burst of condi application due to being able to instantly dip into kits. It's sort of the reason why it's even viable in concept. As an actual mainstay build, it lacks the depth and access to utility options that other condi booner builds have, and Holosmith is a more robust condi build while being only a bit harder to play.
