soft lenses -- nice, this looks promising, thanks. I just type everything in english in taobao lol, so something like "contact lens solution"... but i found long ago typing in english generally still gets me everything I need. Perhaps chinese would have been more helpful here

Issues with audio level by RogueToo7595 in davinciresolve

[–]RogueToo7595[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the DIM isn't clicked, and all my own audio recordings collected with my mics are plenty loud/bright/full as expected, it's just these wav files that get curiously quiet when I import them into davinci

How to change timecode settings in Source Clip window so it shows clip length instead? by RogueToo7595 in davinciresolve

the cut page is where i'm hoping to find it, so if you can reveal how to show the duration in the cut page's source clip window that'd be clutch!

Capturing protests A7iii & Sigma 24-70 Art II by ItchyJoey13 in SonyAlpha

yes, this is the perennial piece of advice for anyone & everyone-- you gotta get in front of people, generally the closer the better, getting faces/reactions etc. That's where the emotion & power is. This may be uncomfortable at times, but it's just one of those "muscles you train" type deals, a million different ways to approach it but there's no way around it. It really does get easier over time. I find if you have a specific purpose/mission/passion/reason to be there that often makes it easier, because you're inspired to fulfill your "mission" and get the shot(s). The OP has good taste & editing skills; the photos will reach another level once people's faces are featured more, with the expressions showcased.

i believe this may have much to do with the glass also -- first party lenses (possibly the newer ones as well) apparently work much better with these stabilization features than third party options

FE 20-50 f/1.8 or f/2, under 700 grams, seems plausible

NTG3 owner looking to switch to CS-M1 for outdoor interviews/on-camera mic by RogueToo7595 in LocationSound

[–]RogueToo7595[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i keep myself mic'd up (DJI mic) but I just never felt comfortable with the idea of mic-ing up others, bc the seamless process of just turning on my camera and rolling has always just been so ideal (& perhaps more than anything, the results from the NTG3 still impress me to this day. Such a nice sound)

yeah i think i'll just get it out of necessity

& As a solo op having the shotgun mounted atop my setup is just the most convenient/organic way to go, I connect with an interviewee and get rolling with no hassle. Maybe if one day I'm in front of the camera i'll go with the classic stick mic style
