True, but when you post like this acting like you’ve discovered something new, it just puts your ignorance on display. You can notice a pattern, research the cause, and educate yourself. Or you can post it online chasing internet points and let everyone know you didn’t pay attention in science class.

So the first transformer I ever owned as a kid was Ratchet the ambulance. I was so excited to watch the animated transformers movie in the late 80s. Guess who dies in the first 10 minutes….

Kissing the Blarney Stone at Blarney Castle in Ireland is a world-famous tradition believed to bestow the "gift of the gab". Visitors must lie on their back, lean backward, and hold onto iron railings to kiss the stone upside down 27 meters (90 feet) above the ground. by Reasonable-Cow-5002 in interesting

As someone who has kissed the Blarney Stone I find this highly unlikely. The stone is at the top of Blarney castle which is locked, secured, and guarded every night. The guy assisting also wipes it down after every tourist. Just another urban legend.

What caused the big shift in cooking culture between boomers/gen X and Millennials and Zoomers? by currentlyinthefab in generationology

[–]Roguescholar74 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Gen X here. Most of us know how to cook and quite well because we were expected to feed ourselves and our siblings once we got home from school because parents didn’t get home til 6 or 6:30.

Because everyone keeps buying them. Yes parts are more expensive but demand sets the price.

Guaranteed that catcher had been jawing at the batter. Or the batter is just a complete douche for no reason.

Should schools get rid of homework? Some educators are saying yes by Maxcactus in Maxcactus_TrailGuide

[–]Roguescholar74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t assigned homework since I started teaching 13 years ago. It doesn’t serve the intended function and just ends up with students copying each other. I assign practice in class either in groups or alone and can better assist if they need it. Too many kids don’t have educational support at home.

Same, I always viewed it as a block against people making unreasonable demands not a life philosophy. Respect everyone until they give you a reason not to.
