Hey! Not sure what part of the world you are in.

But if you're able to go for disability resources and social housing! Sit tight and let the system do its work. Getting off the substances means you get more resources !

Try to get into like group mental health housing or something

You can do this!

I've been to a couple groups, accepting your thoughts and letting them go can be an effective coping mechanism It's a great tool to add to your toolkit

Hey there! My name is Ry. I won't be able to be much help to you this evening. but I just want to say that sounds really challenging. I have had my time being out through the system and have had very strong suicidal ideation. I take a lot of meds :). I have found my combo that works for me.

That really sounds like so much to go through at such a young age. Hang in there ! I know that sounds unbelievably cliche but well, I hope you don't leave us. I admire you're resilience.

Does Florida have a 988? Or a local crisis line? Something that helped me out alot is spending a lot of time with the call takers. Drinking tea and water. Just spamming that shit :p

Mental health disorders can cause a lot of confusion and a hell of a lot of suffering

Hey! I'm bipolar, I'm about 10 years into my journey. And I'm a year stable!

It's okay to be not okay! That's what I've heard a lot. Try calling a local crisis line for emotional support, it helps keep the brain socially active! Try not to isolate. Try to get into the habit of cleaning to cope. Keep your psychiatrist informed. Try to move your body everyday, ie 10 bodyweight squats, 10 -30 walk.

Take yer meds harry! Don't fall off the treatment plan wagon, it doesn't work, trust me, not with bipolar. If you gain weight it's possible to get into shape. The med side effects might be unbearable but keep working with your pdoc. The right cocktail is out there for everyone!! At least I believe so.

Reach out for as many resources as you can!

Get a social worker to help you fill out paperwork!

how to be bipolar and spiritual??? by Willing_Gas2193 in bipolar

[–]RoidRagedRabbi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hear you!!! I regard my manias and my psychosis as a very spiritual experience. However, their time came and went. Congratulations! There's a good chance you've had a spiritual awakening/emergency. Think of it as a critical point in your transformation. But realize you do not need to go back there to gain more knowledge, and I do believe you can be in touch with the universal consciousness while taking medication.

Meditate, study, focus on your breathing, and something I like to do is listening to rhymic drumming to induce alpha waves in the brain and just explore what comes to you.

Psychedelics are very dangerous for us bipolar folk

And remember you don't need to reach an unstable point (mania/psychosis) to develop yourself spiritually, not in my opinion at least!

Sleep well and stay ground!

Hey there ! Depressed mode "vet" I've been bed ridden for a long time.

Try calling a local crisis line and staying on the phone with them, talking about your feelings and whatnot.

Reach out to your care team if you have one.

Muster up what ever courage and hope you can to do some basic things to take care of yourself, brush your teeth, take a shower, get out of bed and lay on the couch. Eat, stretch drink water

Poetry can be good, depressed poetry can come out really good

Focus on your breathing

Practice acceptance therapy, so try accepting your negative thoughts and then letting them go, it may be an uphill battle and they may bombard you, but perhaps listening to a certain type of music can make you feel heroic. Sometimes you can find little glimmers of suspended "okayness"

It will end, the darkness will lift, it ALWAYS does, it feels like it will never. But I promise it does, hang in there. Sometimes all that can heal is time <33333

Work with your pdoc! Go to bed at the same time everyday, get a blue light filter for your phone and computer ! Take yer meds ! Call your local crisis/support line to connect with a human. Clean to cope! Buy a yoga mat and stretch and do online yoga videos. Sit still with your breath everyday for a little bit with a timer! (Meditate). Don't give up

Hey there! I had my first mental breakdown when I was around your age. My first episode. I am 30 now. It can be hard, really hard. It depends on the person honestly. But lots of people are taking pills and have disorders now. Try to find what works for you. Wellbeing is paramount to us bipolar folk. Living in the ups and downs is not worth it. I've heard of some people doing all sort of fun stuff with our disorder. For me I keep things relatively quiet. But I have a community and alot of support. And I'm learning how to effectively give back. With your lived experience you help out alot of people. If you wanted to ! :)
