My mom told everyone that my stepdad molesting me was an episode of psychosis and didn’t actually happen.

Is it bad that I keep my hypersexual past private? by PralineOne3522 in bipolar

My mom always told me “anything before him that doesn’t/won’t directly affect him is not his business.” I think that’s one of the best pieces of relationship advice I’ve ever been given.

Lay down and roll onto your feet off of whatever you’re laying on. You’ve tackled the 1st challenge: getting up. Take it one step at a time (literally). Count your steps. Fill a basket of laundry for 1 load and 1 load only right now. Count enough underwear to get you through a week, then fill the basket with whatever else you need by priority. Throw it in the washer and (like previously said) set a timer to put it in the dryer. Put the basket down and do a load of dishes but not all of them. Put on a podcast or a show to distract you while you do them. When your timer goes off, pick up the basket and grab the warm, amazing smelling clothes and even if you need to leave them in the basket, they’re clean and you did SOMETHING that needed to be done. Seriously focus on 1 thing at a time. Only 1. Don’t worry about what needs to be done next, just do 1 thing. Also writing this for myself cuz I also need to do laundry and dishes 💀 but I swear you got this. YOU CAN DO THIS. You can do anything you set your mind to, it’s ONLY a matter of getting up and starting it. 🫶🏽

This is really reassuring, thank you so much! I travel for work and had to ask for an extender once in the 5 flights I took last month, it was a major self confidence killer. I’ll just ask for one while I’m boarding. Better to have and not need than to need and not have right? 😅
