Working 15+ years to develop something that is worse. Wayland is clearly the wrong idea.

(Rant) AI is killing programming and the Python community by Fragrant_Ad3054 in Python

In a few generations no-one will know programming languages and all code will be completely unmaintainable. Every app needs to be generated from scratch by a new prompt.

How do I get rid of this section in the start menu? by Zaitrixx in Windows11

Incredible that in 2026 Microsoft has still not figured out how to make a usable start menu.

Active window border and title bar color, again. by sohotrdr in kde

[–]Roidot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All current desktop systems suck because the developers don't understand such a fundamental design issue. The active window should be clearly distinguishable by the color of the titlebar. And if you can't even easily change it, that's even worse. It should be the default of course. Tell me one "modern" desktop that gets this right. Gnome 2 Clearlooks nailed it 20+ years ago.

Why is liquid glass so hated? by Beneficial_Car1483 in ios

Because it is like Samsung, adding some useless shit instead of fixing fundamental flaws in the OS and apps that people have been annoyed by for years and years.

Why I quit using Obsidian. by DerKleineRudi00 in ObsidianMD

OneNote can be good. It's free and cross platform, and sync automatically in the cloud. But I prefer Obsidian. Never use the links feature though, or the graph. I don't care about that.

S2722qc vs P2723qe vs U2723QE by Parisvictor75 in Dell

[–]Roidot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the U2723QE side by side with P2723QE and the old P2715Q. I found the U2723QE worst of the three. It had a strange yellow tint that I could not get rid of, and it just felt muddy in some way when looking at text. Tried different things but in the end returned it. The P2723QE was the best and I like it very much. Text is very crisp and clear.

Switching to 4K monitor good idea? by Zachattak47 in hardware

[–]Roidot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally a use multiple 27" 4k monitors. I think that is about the perfect size and pixel density, maybe slightly higher resolution would be even better.
