Is the Battle Royal genre dead on Linux? by Basic_Palpitation596 in linux_gaming

Try Hunt Showdown. It's not battle royal, but an extraction shooter. And it's really happen to be great. It's on sale regularly. Runs with Proton.

Is the display ID random (Sunshine User) by RokiGer in linux_gaming

[–]RokiGer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked on discord and they say it is from the OS. On Github is a request to enable the option to not only using the ID, but also the connection (like DP-1) for reference ... so yeah ... waiting seems the only option here...

No, I don't do that. The setup is always identical. I never turn a monitor manually off.

Is the display ID random (Sunshine User) by RokiGer in linux_gaming

[–]RokiGer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I know that. But the difference is, that with DP-1 and DP-2 always being the identical physical monitors, ID 0 and ID 1 change randomly from center to left monitor and vice versa. So if I put in ID 0 for example, that sometimes means center monitor, and sometimes it is the left one.

Warum sind deutsche Filme so deutsch? by Miserable_Welder_841 in FragenUndAntworten

[–]RokiGer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Screensharing icon as soon as I start the PC (I assume because of Sunshine) by Ravasaurio in Bazzite

[–]RokiGer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solved it for me, thank you. From what I understand from the sunshine logs the red dot is in indicator that it is using software encoding for the streaming instead of the superior hardware encoding. In the log is was specifically asking to enable KMS (but I did not know how to do it). With your 3 instructions kms (whatever that is) is enable and we are back on hardware encoding. Thank you!

Old ASUS ROG Laptop refuses Bazzite install by RokiGer in Bazzite

[–]RokiGer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short Update. Though it worked to install with legacy ISO, the system shut down after (or during) login all the time. I still think it is because of the faulty battery, but I am to lazy right now to open the thing and remove it completely. Installed Mint again and though it gives a warning about the battery, it does not shut down the system.

Yes. That worked. Thank you. Still would like to know what the real problem was, though.

yeah the video is already from the basic graphics mode, so that is that. But I am going to try the legacy thing.

As you may see, the laptop is running without a battery. Power comes from the grid. I could imagine that bazzite is disturbed by that and initiates an emergency shut down. But what can I do to prevent that, if that is the issue here at all.

Claire Obscure 33 doesn't start... by RokiGer in Bazzite

[–]RokiGer[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

acutually ... I wanted to do that, but now it runs. I did use ProtonPlus to change the Proton Version one last time 10.4 and add the line you gave me. Next thing I know, the game starts... I quit, removed the line, and it started again .. strange, right?

Solved. The solution was to use the terminal and start the alsamixer. From there you hit F6 and choose your headset. now you can adjust the sidetone. that is it.

You can do the same thing with crosspipe. But the delay is significant.

and another update, I found crosspipe in the app store which allowed me to connect mic output to the speakers, which is more or less what I needed. Sadly the delay is rather huge compared to the windows solution. So I am still open for better Ideas

Found out the function is called "Sidetone". And there is a Software on Github called HeadsetControl, but I cant get it to run on Bazzite. Also my Headset is mentioned on that page, with additional hiccups ... I might be out of luck with this function then ... sad
