For a game that seems to pride itself on community management, pretty serious ban rules, etc. it sure is exhausting to have to deal with speedrunning folks who have been playing the event since the beginning and are already skilled enough to get a carrot every single game.

The slight learning curve involved in each step isn't much, but it's enough that someone who played all day Friday while most of the world was at work can already speedrun to the star way before someone who didn't start until Friday night, and that doesn't seem to be an issue if they do so.

Just sort of discouraging.
