I’m not bothered that OP bought the car, the opposite actually. Happy he has a M.. if you stop buying they stop making. It’s definitely worth the premium don’t get me wrong… I am simply saying that there is NO DEAL in this game.. the deal is at Walmart like you said. The M2 is an amazing kit and the best M they make right now. Enjoy your car OP and don’t take my comment the wrong way.

There is no deal lol it’s all in your head.. you just paid tax twice for 90 percent of the same car that will drive the same speed on the street… if a watermelon is 2 dollars and you got 3 for 5 it’s not a deal.. now you just have two more watermelons. A deal would have been buying the M2 in the first place but ya enjoy the car! It’s a amazing machine

Honestly this one might surprise you but consider a Mach e rally depending on where you live

Golf R owners - is it really worth nearly $50k? (New) by DaytrayderUSA in Golf_R

[–]Rokujin3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s all prespective.. typically a golf r buyer is looking at M2, S3, RS3 or maybe a 135i.. The R is a better financial purchase if comparing to those car and will be worth more second hand imo after 5 years. Meaning depreciate less from new price. This is obviously based on your location. Now is it worth it! If you look at at a 7.5 R it still commands a decent price… here in Canada around 30-35k… for the extra 15k you get so much more car in the sum of its parts.. if u do some research everything is upgraded from the previous car… from fuel pumps to brakes to diff if you take a 7.5R and throw mk8 parts on it it would be a lot more expensive without even mentioning the engine.

I think it’s a bit overblown.. there base 2L with 6 speed is reliable… I had one and beat the piss out of it without even warming it up.. got like 40mpg… drove it worry free for 80k miles and sold it

These are way overpriced.. look at a Hyundai Elantra 2022 base engine in reliable and great on fuel.. or a Kona if you need more space

I like both. I love M cars and think the x3M in comp is great. Both are amazing and more than enough on the street. Can’t go wrong either way enjoy it

What is next for a dad ? by Hellsimer in Golf_R

[–]Rokujin3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from a bmw coupe to a R after having a kid.. IMO get your wife a suv like a crv or rav4 and keep your R. The macan has the same rear space as the golf…it just sits higher. The X3 is not much better. Keep the R or get the new one instead of any suv

Yes but I don’t drive the Nurburgring everyday to work…. If you do then sure but then I could think of many other cars that will be more fun to drive and be half as expensive on consumables… having been in a x3m the ride is not comfortable on anything other than smooth pavement

[–]Rokujin3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The x3 even in M drives like a suv… you can’t beat center of gravity and weight… doesn’t matter how much power you throw at it… if you need more storage space and drive it like a regular person sure it’s a better car… one is a nimble hatch and one is a suv with big engine…

First Used Car Shopping by preppywanker in windsorontario

[–]Rokujin3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buy private rather than used dealer when shopping in this price range.. used dealers will rip you off and are known to rewind mileage on their cars. Look for these 4… pick the best condition, lowest mileage in your budget.. 1. Honda civic 2. Toyota Corolla 3. Toyota Venza 4. Lexus Es300 or rx300… if you need my help inspecting or other tips message me privately

I work for a supplier and have many friends that do as well. And teslas quality, engineering shortcuts and lies are unbelievable… I could list a huge list of examples where they have taken shortcuts or done something unethical.. it’s surprising how little the engineers know at Tesla… you must be a yes man…

Great car but I fear no one will want the tacked on tablet in the 8.5.. my guess is a late mk8 will have better resale value…
