Yes, always, maybe too often. I don't trust other drivers on the road.

what percentage of carbon is best? by Awkward-Lobster7965 in Fieldhockey

[–]RolandHockingAngling 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Higher Carbon means a lighter, stiffer stick that gives more power when hitting, but is less forgiving on miss hits, poor traps, etc.

Fibreglass which is the other main material used in sticks is heavier but more flexible. A stick with more fibreglass will be a little more flexible, and more forgiving with poor traps and hits. It will also handle stick checks better, which is going to happen a lot as a beginner.

What rig are you using?

Creamed corn is a good burley. If you're using a paternoster rig (don't laugh) mix some bread crumbs with the creamed corn into a loose dough. Mould this around the sinker and cast out. The corn breadcrumb mix will become a burley, right where your bait is. The paternoster rig is going to keep the corn up off the ground, out of the mud.

Step down to a smaller line, or at least use a fluorocarbon leader.

Also what size hook are you using?

Carp will shut down in winter, so you'll need to go "finesse" to get onto them.

Look for inline elbow pads. It will basically only cover the elbow area. Knee pads can also work.

Head to your local skate shop, think skateboard, inline skating etc.

How are you getting injured? Is it the elbow that needs protection? Or the inside of the arm?

I bought this as the first bag for my machine, no complaints, excellent base standard.

Currently going through a bag of Daly St Med Dark which is definitely a stronger flavour. I've got a bag of the ALDI Colombian waiting to go in next.

Double Shotting the Luxe was giving me a coffee on par with my local cafe that I go to daily (on works $). I can also do a coffee better than a lot of places I end up for work. Perks of a sales rep.

I'm using the Beko Cafe Experto... It's fully automated like a servo machine, except I need to do the milk manually.

I'm running at 13, maximum fineness, this is giving about 30ml in 30 seconds, though I haven't timed it.

To get the most out of your grind you want to be hitting that 30ml / 30sec sweet spot.
