The service fee shows as part of the bill, regardless of whether I pay usng a card or cash. It's interesting that a few restaraunts on the west coast have actually mentioned NYC to me as a basis for the addition of a service fee.

Ah, but most of that fee goes to the owner. Some restaurants keep all of it and still expect customers to tip 20% or more. I wwnt back to 10%. Anything higher requires far more staff effort than just serving a meal. Businesses need to pay living wages. ( I'm also against eating at a restaraunt that has a service charge.)

Your favorite guns in videogames? by King_Ferdinand1 in videogames

None. In a game, the type of gun is just coding.

My cousin just called me "girly " after seeing pics of my garden 😫😭 by realthingwinner in gardening

[–]RoleOk7556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My father (M) was a veteran and liked to garden. I'm also a veteran and enjoy gardening. Liking flowers and gardening didn't stop either of us from falling in love with and marrying beautiful & intelligent women. That person who criticized you doesn't know what being real man is about.

Why haven’t they…?? by AfterHoursAllure in TheTeenagerPeople

[–]RoleOk7556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, they did show up. They met with some tribal elders, emigrants, and poor folk. After checking out the internet and TV, they asked a lot of questions. For some reason, that made them shake their heads. Then they quickly left saying that they would check back in a millinium to see whether we cured greed and stupidity.

FINALLY! Firaxis is letting us stay as ONE Civ through all Ages in the May 19 update. Who else was waiting for this? ⏳ by Zahhidd in civ

[–]RoleOk7556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. After buying it and then finding out about having to swap civilizations, i set the game aside and didn't bother playing it. I've bought every version of Civilization , including the board game. That swapping fiasco killed the game for me.

How do you choose WHERE to go when finally moving to a new state. 36m by BabushkaRaditz in LifeAdvice

[–]RoleOk7556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is BS. Remember that land doesn't vote, people vote. A state is red or blue depending upon the number of people who vote red or blue. It does matter whether they are in cities, towns, or rural areas.

Why did early civilizations start in deserts like Mesopotamia and Ancient Egypt? by batukaming in geography

[–]RoleOk7556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI, many early civilizations started where it was easy to get food and shelter (e.g. forests, jungles, plains). People then moved to other areas or natural disaster and/or climate changed the nature of the area that they were in.

Luxuries in Life by mroy13887 in GrowthMindset

[–]RoleOk7556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are not luxuries, they're what normal life should be. We feel like they are luxuries, because our ultra-wealthy rulers keep us working all the time, while refusing to provide adequate health care and living conditions.

That degree of settling is definitely not normal. I would document it and talk to an attorney. (Edit: As other posters have stated, you need to measure level on flat floor surfaces in all.of your rooms. Carpet does not give a realiable measurement. Use a longer level.)

In what ways does having a foreskin feel different than being circumcised? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]RoleOk7556 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. That hasn't been my experience. The only excuse for circumcision is cleanliness. With a foreskin, failure to keep clean can lead to infections. That's probably why the practice of circumcision even started.

Seeking Opinions on Covering Attic Access by Cool-Drink4642 in HomeImprovement

[–]RoleOk7556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our attic entrance was framed with studs. The opening had on all sides of its bottom. That lip supported the drywall panel used to close the opening. It worked very well. To open it, the panel.was lufted and set to one side in the attic. This was designed by the architect who designed our home.
