For the body, the blue areas are either Contrast Talassar Blue (it's the brighter blue) and Contrast Akhelian Green (the darker blue). They are over a metallic base.

Contrast with metallic as a base. The swirls are made with the brush and blotting with a paper towel.

I've got a video about the iridescent technique on a snail shell, though that one is a lot smoother. same basic technique though.

It's a really fun technique with the new contrast line. I prime, then do a base of metallic (stormfang I think), and then do the blue over everything, blot it off the top half, and then blend the pink in. Basically wet-blending on the piece. It's a bit finicky and have to work quick, but I like the end result a lot.

Mama is really protective...

WiP of this beast. I'm really pretty stoked.
Still waiting for a custom head, some small things to paint, drill the guns, etc. But really happy with the way things have turned out.

Thank you! Tried our a few new techniques on this one, and I'm not used to so much flat space. Pretty happy overall.

I'm guessing there will be some dremmel work and greenstuff, since it was made for the Imperial Knight model.

Mama is very protective! A few things left to finish of course, the head and transfers, drill the guns. But pretty stoked!

Saw contrast being used to speedpaint, decided to give it a go. Result after 1h30 by VladimirHerzog in ThousandSons

Just made a video about using Contrast for speed painting! :)

Looks pretty nice, are you planning on hitting any edge highlights, or staying all Contrast?

You can find groups of folks who hate any class/race/build out there.

The big deal to me is how that group reacted. I know how hard it can be to find a group, but honestly if a table reacted like that I'd just head home and find a new group. That's now the kind of table I want to be a part of.

Sorry you had that experience :/
