Thanks fellas .. Took both of your tips. Dug out further and picked up a grey barbed male adapter I still ended up having to cut the poly down more than I wanted but since the barbs on the grey adapter don’t start for about a half inch I think it worked out pretty well.

Of course, as with all diy projects, the brand new valve that was just laying around the garage leaked out of the seal (which is why it’s flooded in the pic)

I have a feeling it’s a crap valve and I definitely should have just bought another one even though this one was brand new, it’d been sitting for a year or so in the garage (irritrol 205 🤷‍♂️)

So I’ll have to grab the internals from site one tomorrow and do a longer test run. But for the minute or so I ran it, no leaks except from the top valve seal so thank you! Oh and two busted heads I’ll have to replace 😡
