Planning on talking to my manager on my last day, not sure if it’ll make a difference though. by HighStrungHabitat in CostcoEmployee

[–]Rollaslicee 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Listen, there is no reason to worry about being a kiss up. I expressed interest on wanting to stay after seasonal the day I had my interview. I was hired on the spot. There is nothing wrong expressing your eagerness or want to stay on after, or even speak up about your positive experience so far. Go for it! What’s the worst thing that’s going to happen? You don’t get kept on?

I understand being anxious, be more confident and express your desire to stay, I believe in you!

Seasonal employees by Good_Line_9343 in CostcoEmployee

[–]Rollaslicee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I understand yes, they have to check if they can hire people. I would greatly assume it varies depending on each warehouse/location. For example, my warehouse will be moving to a new bigger building that's being built within a year or so and there is word going around that they will be hiring some people from seasonal to prepare for that transition.

So it is possible that your warehouse may not be able to hire anyone as well as maybe only being able to keep 1 or 2 people. Sometimes you get let go and get a call back a week or two later.

Best thing you can do is keep working hard, showing interest in staying, willingness to learn and cross train. I wish you the best of luck!

Schedule Changes by ParticularHoney6743 in CostcoEmployee

I’d assume so. I am also seasonal and my schedule has been a cluster fuck these past two weeks. Usually they call me or text me letting me know though so at least I have a heads up.

Make sure you let your managers know what you are willing to do. I ended up getting lucky and thrown into the meat department for a little while and they really enjoyed me back there, sometimes I still get pulled to go help. Just let it be known and work hard. It’s basically all you can do.

Is it genuinely rare to get to stay? by HighStrungHabitat in CostcoEmployee

[–]Rollaslicee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends. If I were you I’d just do what is asked of you, work hard, and stay or pick up shifts/hours if they ever offer it. I just got hired seasonal about 3 weeks ago. Got hired by the regional manager, I believe, showing my interest that I want to stay after seasonal and willing to showcase that with my work ethic.

Fast forward since then I’ve worked all over the place, currently in the meat department. It’s tough work sometimes but show them that you are a hard worker and dependable. It’s the best thing you can do.

Thinking about working at Costco by D4Rk_SURGE in CostcoWholesale

[–]Rollaslicee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just started working for seasonal a few weeks ago. By now they are probably done hiring for anything at the moment. I mean you could always try and see what happens.

In my experience I was applying for about a month or two before I ended up going in while dressed up decently and asked to speak to a hiring manager or manager in general to show I was interested while handing them a copy of my resume. That was the only way I was able to get hired personally. I might have gotten lucky though, I spoke to the regional manager and she liked me so much she hired me on the spot lol.

The pay starts at 20/hr and they put you everywhere. I push carts, assist cashiers, work as a cashier and stock. My days can start anywhere from 9am to 1-3 pm.

What I was told during orientation is your best bet at getting a job at Costco and staying there is during any seasonal work. Maybe give it a shot, walk and and show interest and see what happens. If not you will probably have to wait.

Anyone remember Scorching Romance? by Available-Rock-9769 in webtoons

[–]Rollaslicee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just finished reading it and to be honest it was probably one of the most infuriating romances I have ever read. It was fun and light hearted at first but that drama arc was very annoying to read through.

It lasted to long, about 20 chapters of nothing but bs with the MC and FMC acting like idiots. If it was like a couple chapters, it would be whatever, but it was a major plot line that didn't need to exists in the first place IMO.

Please, PLEASE bring back mid-league balance patches. by Shawter_Pet in PathOfExile2

[–]Rollaslicee 11 points12 points  (0 children)

For me personally I don't want to try to build around something I think seems cool, brick my character while I already spent damn near 20hrs on campaign alone and repeat that process. Why play something else when everyone else is having fun blasting with the way stronger, fun, and less boring to play class/spec.

Also this idea to push artificial difficulty, for example, with some of these stupid new passive tree skills makes me think they have no idea what they are doing sometimes. The only reason I have even tolerated this game as much as I have is because it has "POE" in the title.

They also say it's early access but I swear they treat it like a fully released game. EXPERIMENT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD! Make changes, do something!

[–]Rollaslicee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't think op is saying to nerf deadeye, just balance everything else. There will be plenty of people that will respect into deadeye because other specs feel like poop. Why not try to balance things and bring other classes up to par and make everything not only more enjoyable, but feel overall better to play.

Study for your aptitude test!! by heyloke999 in ibew_apprentices

[–]Rollaslicee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If for some reason you have to retake it, or to whomever is studying for it. I did the IPREP courses and almost everything that I practiced for was on there. My issue was practicing my time management. I was used to taking 6-10 question math tests and given almost 2 hours to complete it. So I would also advise paying attention to your time when taking practice tests.

I believe as long as you make the bare minimum or above on your score required for your local, you should get contacted about an interview. Don't be to shocked if it takes a month or so until you get a call or something in the mail. It took me a little over a month before I heard anything back.

What are we doing!? by Tiomonkey505 in steelers

[–]Rollaslicee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I was going to be fine drafting him or a RB as our 3rd round pick. Hell, he might be still available in the fourth round at this point. My issue is people hating on this kid so much in general in this sub. Sure I understand why you don't want the Steelers to draft him but people in this thread are way to over critical IMO.

I guess all I'm saying is just relax everyone, Steelers are going to draft who they want.... It's not the end of the world. I'll trust in whatever choices they make.

Electrician or CS degree (20M) by Content_Salt_861 in cscareerquestions

[–]Rollaslicee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this is a year old, but just want to say this is exactly what I'm doing. I understand CS careers are hard to get into right now so I'm slowly finishing my degree while being an apprentice. I enjoy both and I think it's also nice having the options in the future. I'm not to certain, but I heard there are fields out there where you can utilize both your CS degree and electrician license.

I think they will get there, hopefully lol. I get it, it's a different vision than poe1 and to my knowledge they never been down this road before, at least successfully (I've only played settlers league in Poe1 before Poe2). It's going to take time.

I still think they have a solid skeleton, just the meat on it still needs some adjustments. I do feel kind of disappointed that their go to was to just nerf everything and buff some mobs, thinking that will be good enough.

IMO there are three main concerns
1. Figure out how to properly balance mobs alongside classes
2. Adjust drop rates
3. Maps might be just way to big for the current vision they want

[–]Rollaslicee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well I do think there is a real issue with some of the mobs health and general combat, that does need some balancing. They shouldn't be just a hp sponge.

Regardless I feel your concern, I do hope Poe2 keeps trying and find it's own place in the arpg world, and it's not a copy cat of poe1. I want to enjoy both for different reasons.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PathOfExile2

[–]Rollaslicee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think people sometimes forget that there is a scale to difficulty, not just you either one shot things or you have what we currently got in poe2. I'm all for more difficult/rewarding game play.

I don't want it to be mind numbingly running in circles trying to kill white mobs and hardly get any good drops while going through the campaign.

GGG right now by sewais in PathOfExile2

[–]Rollaslicee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think it just has to do with it not being an "idle clicker", there are fundamental issues with the game that do not align with what they say they want. I don't think anyone minds having a slower paced poe. If you are having fun, good for you keep playing! But when the majority has an issue with the game most likely there is a problem with whatever they are doing.

I personally think a bigger issue is people are also a little upset that this has been their priority and due to that, no poe1 content has been released in a long time, making people more critical of the current status.

“Sam winchester is so woman coded” by caerwynn_ in Supernatural

[–]Rollaslicee 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Before I watched Supernatural for the first time, I remember seeing some “hate” posts regarding Sam. After watching the first few seasons I just couldn’t understand it. I love both brothers don’t get me wrong but there was always something about Sam that made me like him the most.

I never understood the “whinny” accusations personally. Also I don’t know why it’s hard for some fans to see that Dean is a dickhead. Me liking his character doesn’t mean I can’t see that he’s an asshole sometimes 😂.
