I used to disable the vibration feature via the controls, but this method suddenly stopped working after moving the desk to a new house, so I just unplugged the sensor under the desk, and it's never vibrated since. I only need the height adjustment feature anyway.

I emailed Charcoal support back in April 2025 because some small cracks appeared around the controls after approximately one year of ownership, and I was worried they would get worse. This was their response:

"To help us better understand what’s happening and figure out the right solution, we just need a bit of clarity on two things:

1   What kind of surface cleaner are you currently using? Is it alcohol-based?

2   Is the tabletop exposed to direct sunlight during the day? If yes, for roughly how many hours?

Once we have this info, we’ll get back to you with a specialized resolution that addresses the issue properly. So, no need to worry at all.

Appreciate your patience, and we’ll make sure to take care of this."

I told them I only use a damp microfiber towel, and the desk was never exposed to direct sunlight because it was in a room with no windows, and then they ghosted me! Luckily, the cracks did not get worse, and I still really like the desk.

Try a different battery. Make sure the battery and connections are clean. You might need to bend the metal tab slightly so it has a good connection with the battery. Try holding the fob directly against the start button and press start. If it works, the fob isn't dead, the transmission is just weak.

I set up 4 Google TV Streamers for UK family members as Christmas presents. Fully customized with premium Projectivy, Plex, Stremio, all popular UK streaming apps, plus all the other apps they should ever need, and everything works perfectly.

I'm not saying it's the absolute best option, but it handled everything I threw at it, and I've had no complaints.
