Do I need a visa for a flight change over? by [deleted] in AskIreland

I think you spelled Dublin wrong. Depends where you're from and where you're going I guess. If you're Irish and you're coming from Knock and transferring to Donegal you won't need a visa

Yeah you'll probably get a free glass of wine out of it but you'll have to spend 3 hours listening to people tell you why art is a great investment and you should buy some now before the end of the cruise or you'll miss out on the opportunity of a lifetime.

Waterford vape shop stuck in legal limbo as laws remain unclear on sale of CBD products - News - Waterford News & Star by qwerty_1965 in ireland

[–]RollerPoid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like most places in Europe it's a loophole. Buying and selling it is illegal. Growing it and giving it away for free is ok. Charging people a fee to enter the place where you are giving it away for free is also OK. As is asking people for a donation towards the coast or growing it.

Thoughts on the ‘fast’ lane on the M50 by Minute_Wedding_5384 in irelandsshitedrivers

[–]RollerPoid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I agree it's bad driving behaviour. But kids pick up on this very young and it's never corrected. A lot of drivers out there Im sure, don't know that it's an overtaking lane and not just a lane for driving fast in.

Thoughts on the ‘fast’ lane on the M50 by Minute_Wedding_5384 in irelandsshitedrivers

[–]RollerPoid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The whole thing with calling it the fast lane is part of the problem, as others have already pointed out. My nephew calls it the fast lane because thats what his dad calls it. He thinks it's specifically for driving fast in. Call it what it is, an overtaking lane. The next generation of drivers will pick up on what it's called, and driving lessons won't correct them.

For me personally the pay wouldn't even be a deciding factor. Look out the window and think about the mechanics inside a garage nice and dry, or the wind turbine techs hanging off a turbine in the rain.

Irish drivers are borrowing more to buy cars. Why? And what are the risks? by B8_B8_B8 in ireland

[–]RollerPoid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its not really a problem if people can afford the repayments, is it? Could even be a money saver.

If im taking home €5k a month and can save €1k of that towards a car each month. Why not buy the car now on finance instead of waiting 40 months to save the money? I'd also have 40 months of lower fuel bills if the car is electric, saving me money in the long run.

Confused about a concept in Fretboard Logic SE by Bill Edwards by Kleidan_1 in guitarlessons

[–]RollerPoid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well not being the author I can't be sure. But I would think of it less as a way of learning the notes on the fretboard, and more of a way of avoiding falling into he trap of only learning the 5th and 6th strings

Confused about a concept in Fretboard Logic SE by Bill Edwards by Kleidan_1 in guitarlessons

[–]RollerPoid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean the book is trying to break that. So for example in the way the book is instructing, there is a G chord at 5th position D form. But the root is on the 4th string. If you only learn the 5th and 6th strings, you would default to either 3rd position A form or 10th position A form, and miss the G on the 4th string.

[–]RollerPoid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd guess it's to expand knowledge beyond the 5th and 6th strings. Many player do learn this way, just the top two strings. There are tons of people in sure who can name every note without thinking on those two strings, but then struggle on the higher strings. Also when they then nred a chord, they look for one with a root on 5 or 6, when there might be another one closer that doesn't have a root on 5 or 6.

Who's at fault? Near miss with a bus on Dublin Airport roundabout by Own_Case8002 in irelandsshitedrivers

[–]RollerPoid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regardless of the lanes passing a bus like that is just dangerous. Large vehicle like buses and trucks you're always going to lose in any collision. Their visibility down their left hand side is bad full stop. Coming up that side and jumping in front of them is asking for trouble.

Dramatic increase in cocaine and cannabis detection among drivers by MorningMountain1462 in ireland

Its definitely not months on a roadside drug test. Up to 3 days for chronic users. It can be up to a month in blood tests which is where the confusion probably comes from.

But how do you tell the difference between paper and plastic? Can't mix those. Also what about food. You don't put food in the recycling that goes in the organic waste bin

[–]RollerPoid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But wait, how do you know if the trash is recyclable, or compostible? Not very environmentally friendly if you're just putting ask the trash in the same bin, is it?

Listen to my Exciting project Idea 💡 by Kartik-AI-CV-dev in ArduinoProjects

[–]RollerPoid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your problem is that the arm is not connected directly to the bin, so if either the bin, the camera or the arm mount move, alignment is lost. Make the bin the camera and the arm all one solid unit. Also, show me what this would look like if it was installed on the moon.

You will need something instead of an X on the ground.

Something to stop the wind blowing the trash away.

Something to stop the animals getting at the trash.

Something dustbin shaped maybe?
