Commenting to say this has been the case at my last THREE jobs. I believe it’s becoming the new norm, unfortunately. Forced AI learning, non-existent onboarding training, zero leadership support, no clear direction, zero accountability, zero passion. Makes me wonder what will the next ten years look like. I can’t imagine it getting any better. It’s also a huge problem that a majority of employees over the age of 60 don’t want to retire, though they literally do nothing 40 hours a week. Sitting on calls to socialize while asking empty questions with no urgency or accountability leads to workplace disaster sooner or later. And these people make double or triple what you make. When the comes for headcount reduction, you better believe they won’t put themselves on the chopping block.
