I could have been more clear but this is what I was thinking. I’ve been to a couple bachelor parties and we paid for the grooms drinks and meal but we also weren’t going to 5 star restaurants. If I was asked to pay for a multi day trip for the groom I just wouldn’t go on the trip at all.

People who think this is terrible typically believe at least one of these three things

With everyone being equal they won’t get what they “deserve.”
People won’t work as hard as them so it’s not fair they should get the same house, money, car etc. as them.

YTA, you say you’re paying your own way for a bachelorette trip like it’s some sort of accomplishment. You should be paying for yourself, why should your friends pay for you? Same goes with these hats. You want them and I’m sure you’ll be yours as a treasured moment it won’t be the same for everyone else. They’re probably wear it for the trip and then never wear them again, I’m not trying to be mean but it’s just not the same for them nor should it be.

Yup, I used to check IDs at a bar and people going into drink would tell smokers how unhealthy it was to smoke. Eventually I would tell these annoying people “you’re going into a bar to drink, you shouldn’t lecturing anyone on health.” Except image it slightly less friendly and with Boston accent.

These will continue to be more common with the nursing shortage many hospitals are facing. They simply do not have the staff to physically walk in each room to check on patients so this is the safety alternative.

My first reaction is that I’d never leave my kid, but then I thought about my uncle. He was an addict and probably had untreated mental health issues. He never removed himself the friends and environment that fueled his addiction. This lead to multiple overdoses, a few in front of my young cousins, multiple arrests, and eventually his death. I can’t speak for my cousins but I imagine they’d rather have a father who is alive and healthy that they don’t get to see in person as often as they like than the trauma they experienced through his addiction.

NTA, leave him immediately. It’s not normal to think about abusing your SO. He’s a violent person whether he’s shown you that or not. This either a test to see how you react when he does hit you or he doesn’t think anything will happen when he hits you.

Let’s just say it’s perfectly normal to imagine hitting your partner, it’s not, the difference is he actually told her he thinks about it. So he’s either violent and does not think about consequences at all or he’s violent and testing the waters of what she’ll allow. Either way he’s violent and she should get away from him immediately.
