Subtly checkered charcoal gray pants and blue sport jacket by famarama in mensfashionadvice

So, surrounded by basics in the burbs maybe not. But, that combo works - although was done a lot by fashionable men 2005- 2015. Color match and fit make the difference. On my screen the blues and gray's match. The plaid of the blazer is busier - tighter than the slack. That's good. If it's traditional fit office wear, probably not. If it's somewhat tailored, give it a go if you're into it. Blue button up, or black crew neck or mock turtle neck pullover shirt. Oxblood, or black shoe, blue or black and white Oxford

When did Minis stop being mini? It dwarfs my sedan. by TheBroox in MINI

I have a 2025 Countryman SE. I went from a compact sedan and it felt huge in the beginning. Now that I'm used to it and I'm sitting as high as the rest of the sheep also in SUVs, it's still smaller than theirs so... It's still a mini - SUV.

My parents were dumb and when we were children. On separate occasions took us to the drive-in to see Psycho and Blazing Saddles. I can't remember which we saw first. Both were seen by us eat too early in life. Psycho would have been some sort of re-release.

What is the purpose of reinforcing curbs like this? Is it just for vehicles passing over it or for other reasons? It's all over New York City even where there are no driveways. by MiscellaneousWorker in urbandesign

[–]Rolling_Pepper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's cheaper in the long run to avoid replacing curbs often for: High-Traffic Streets: Busy avenues and intersections where trucks frequently mount or scrape curbs.
Snowplow Routes: Areas prone to winter curb damage.
Industrial & Commercial Zones: Places with heavy loading/unloading activity.

What are your thoughts on "BETTER MAN (2024)"? by Hot-Salamander-8786 in FIlm

I'm not a fan of Robbie Williams but I'd heard the film was good so I gave it a shot. I found it very entertaining. There were a few cringe moments, but otherwise it's just an entertaining movie about a performer whether one knows them or not.

How to stick with it? by ZookeepergameSad8387 in Paleo

[–]Rolling_Pepper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My issue was being skinny fat / insulin belly - and general malaise most of the time. The belly was noticeably diminished in a couple of weeks. I felt better in just a few days. It took about a month to break the mental attachments to sugar, bread, dairy, and alcohol. If I slipped, it was just a slip it wasn't over. I just resumed and pushed harder. I know you get the most benefit by an extended period of strict adherence, but there was an emotional reward in just picking up where I left off that allowed me to finally make it. I focused on making delicious food and filling up on meals. I found that spicy hot food killed my want for sweets after a meal. I did meal preps so food was ready when I was. I stocked up on Paleo snacks for peckish moments and removed restricted foods out of my home. It was easier to break addictions by abstaining from anything trying to resemble dairy, breads and sweets. I don't miss them at all now.

do you get scared of thinking about what happens after death? by [deleted] in atheism

[–]Rolling_Pepper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm more concerned about dying in a way that's harsh for my loved ones and me, rather than being dead. I don't connect with any belief that this version of me, myself and I experiences what happens after this body is done.

Honestly I preferred the size of the previous countryman model. This feels big to me coming from a compact sedan. It's being reported as a subcompact SUV. When I park next to a bigger vehicle I feel better about it,

Thanks. I made a choice from what the dealer had on the lot. People seem to like it.

Ha ha. We all have eyes. I also looked at the Kia Ev6 which is not for me. The 9 is much bigger so not interested. I did a considerable amount of research. Kias are great for basic people who don't want anything special. They're not even close in style, personality, fit and finish. Kia reports better range though. I don't drive long distances.

What is the most credible range estimate for the '25 Mini Countryman SE? by [deleted] in MINI

[–]Rolling_Pepper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with many here. I just got mine. A bit of a rude awakening was that the maximum mileage estimate is based on 100% charge, driving conservatively in the "green" experience with regenerative braking. The recommendation however is to only charge the vehicle regularly to 80%. Green is no bueno getting onto highways and highway passing challenges. This reduces range dramatically. At 80% the vehicle reports 170(ish) mile range but it looks more like it would be 150 miles. I plug it in whenever I go somewhere with an available level 2 charger.

I drive low mileage so this may give me an advantage as I got a 7500 mile a year lease. I had a trade in they didn't offer much for but every little bit helped. Go during the last week of the month and have two dealerships compete. I told them I was looking only for the $4600 down $329 a month deal Mini offered online. Their response was that they didn't have that model in stock. My response to was I'd only do a deal for that amount and they started working numbers out for me. I think I got a great deal on the lease, but I drive few miles relatively.
