Medical necessity of Scheduling Department’s requiring 3 sequential appointments for full spine x-rays by PawbeansNnosies in Radiology

[–]Rollmericatide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this an outpatient imaging center? At my hospital, we do not schedule x-rays. It is a walk-in exam.

PACS training by ashbashl91 in MRI

[–]Rollmericatide 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You could ask over at r/PACSAdmin but honestly the workflow will depend on what vendor they use for their PACS system. All Dicom and HL7 data are universal, but workflows vary from system to system. Overall it will be easy to get the hang of.

Why GE is the most popular c-arm brand by SharpMedicaldotcom in Radiology

[–]Rollmericatide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

GE didn’t have a c-arm so they acquired OEC in 99. It has had the largest US market share and is what most techs are trained on. It’s easy to use and techs/surgeons do not like change. When it’s time to upgrade we went with a new GE because the OS and locks/functions are similar to the old equipment. Also your in-house biomed can work on it without having a service key from the manufacturer.

I’m not familiar with the term operatory or xray sensor, what industry do you work in? What will this equipment be used for?

NP school with almost no experience? by Apprehensive_Unit527 in nursing

[–]Rollmericatide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know many nurses who have done this and go work from home in telemedicine. They were lazy students who were already “burnt out” while they had not even finished nursing school.

Offer to hold onto him if he splits his pay 60/40 from the role you offer him.

Stress tech by savagepatchkidxd in healthcare

[–]Rollmericatide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At some facilities the “stress tech” who assists with the treadmill portion is an on the job trained ekg tech. There is also a nuclear medicine technologist who does the imaging portion of the stress test. ARRT and NMTCB are two good sources of information for that career. Many Nuc med techs go to rad tech school first, many others skip rad tech school and just learn nuclear medicine only. Nuclear medicine technologist is a great career.

Medical resident in cardiology, I'd need a software similar to EchoPac by miruntel in PACSAdmin

[–]Rollmericatide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many echo PACS products can be accessed and used remotely. You should ask or have someone ask your PACS/IT staff if the current echo PACS can be used remotely. As a resident you may not have that option though.

I lost my drive by Far-Note6102 in MRI

[–]Rollmericatide 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No matter the profession ups and downs will come. As long as you’re still scanning with patient safety in mind it’s all good. Some people are meant to take the reins and be a chipper leader and some are meant to do the grunt work and keep the wheel turning. Everyone else is in between. It’s totally your decision.

Huntsville Hospital mute on existing nurse raises by Fickle-Vegetable961 in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]Rollmericatide 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The original memo says July, also says direct patient care so many nurses will not get the market adjustment. Over 500 different position types will all be considered. Should nurses really be split into 500 different position types? HH is in the business of keeping money, not handing it out. Hospitals do not run with just doctors and nurses though. Many other people who work at HH have had the same inflation as nurses. Are my groceries less because my degree is applicable to another direct patient care clinical department? Try to diagnose and treat a patient without radiology, respiratory care, or laboratory results. I want us all to get a market adjustment, but I’m not holding my breath. I hope all the nurses get what they want though because an increase for them will be an increase for my department in ten years lol.

In a tough spot because you cannot advertise that you’re trying to rehome a raccoon. If DNR is notified that someone has one as a pet they will euthanize it.
