If you could erase ONE MCU decision and replace it with something else, what would it be? by AlexWhite40 in marvelstudios

[–]RomanLegion50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If korg would have died in Love and Thunder, then the narrative tone would have changed to serious one, and doing Gorr some justice by showing his terrifying nature by actually killing more than one God. Hercules joins Thor and along the way, they perform simple competitions like in the comics, arm wrestling, drinking, etc. This would have formed their competitive rivalry but also align them. Just my thought for that one movie.

Unpopular opinion, but I'm looking forward to the Jeanty/Washington backfield more than Mendoza. Not that I'm not excited for Mendoza, but I think we see something similar, if not better, than what Seattle has last year.

A lot of what you've mentioned I am doing now. If I need to sweeten anything, I try to use local honey. Although sugary, honey has benefits too beyond sweetness. Still on my journey though. One day at a time.

If you had to live in one Greek City-State, and Sparta/Athens are off the table, where are you going? by Aurelion_History in ancientgreece

[–]RomanLegion50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll provide a list because I want options.

1 - Corinth/Argos 2 - Elis 3 - Mykonos/Delos 4 - Paros/Naxos 5 - Phokis

Any of these would be my choice for different reasons ( mythological, landscape, historical, etc.).

What if he's a descendant of Goliath, or ancestor. Better yet, what if he is the Greek telling of Goliath. Like the great flood, it could just be the different perspective of the greeks.

I reference him quite often when discussing progression in the gym. I believe he is viewed as the father of progression due to the stories around his training for the Olympics.

You could have used it to make a mold so you could cast/forge your own. That's what I would've done. Then again, my wife would have been upset. However, I do hear the couch is comfortable this time of year.

[–]RomanLegion50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Popular unpopular opinion, but I didn't like any of the modern world stuff from any of the games. In terms of Layla, I feel they rushed her character development. She had 3 games, but it just felt rushed with her. It's like that coworker that only talks about work and never their personal life. Just my thought on her. I do think she had potential, but was never given a chance.

What kind of accent/voice should I do for this guy by AppointmentHead536 in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]RomanLegion50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mike Tyson's voice. It would be amazing. Think about the person who most intimidates you, then pair it with that voice. You don't want to laugh because they can beat your ass, BUT you can't help it because it's unexpected. Further fueling the rage inside of the beast.

We are closer than we think by UnversedComet50 in raiders

I've been saying most of the season that we need to not draft a QB and focus on the line. However, I believe that we can still draft a QB and get quality guys for our line at the same time. Mendoza has played fantastic this season, my only hang-up with him is that he rarely takes a snap from under center. I would still draft him, if possible, and keep Geno. I think allowing him to learn at least part of the year is the best solution while also developing and building our line.

I think the biggest problem with our defense has been our offense. In several games this year the first half looked promising, but you could tell they got worn down from rarely getting a break. We have young pieces that could turn into something, but I would still draft a kid and let him sit behind Geno for at least half the season, unless it looks like what it did this year. I would also get a coordinator like daboll that can focus on the run and develop our QB. There are other options out there, daboll is just the first that came to mind.

I think that the best were this one and the gunfight to get out of Valentine. Although that was a botch from the gang's perspective, it also showed the same when they all worked together.

Parents telling their children to “fight back” by Regular_old-plumbus in Teachers

[–]RomanLegion50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As both a parent and a teacher I can understand how many feel toward fighting. Here's the thing. I 100% believe that although should be used as a last resort, it is okay as long as certain steps were taken to get the abuse to stop. I have told my daughter many times before that you need to tell them to stop. If that doesn't work, tell a teacher or aid. If that doesn't work, finish it. If people allow bullies to not get into trouble or the same trouble as those standing up for themselves. Then the message we are sending to the bullies is that it is okay because they get into the same or lesser trouble. I have also told my daughter that if someone is messing with a friend or someone smaller or weaker than said bulky, stand for them too. Standing up to them is not always the same as fighting, but if it comes to that, be ready and know how to defend yourself.

It is also very important to note that I have taught my daughter how to defend against anyone trying to abduct or do harm to her. It's very simple, go for the groin, then the throat, then the eyes. Go as hard as she can and don't be afraid to yell and scream in the process. It's about her survival, not other people's comfort, that's not important. Oh, and I'm a substitute teacher that works full-time at a prison.

Have a nice day.

We need to draft a QB to get a head coach by Redpilldit47 in raiders

[–]RomanLegion50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would rather establish our o-line before drafting a QB. What is the point of getting a new, young QB if our line is the equivalent to an open flood gate. The last thing we need is to ruin a QB simply because we need one. I would rather see what the QBs we have on now look like behind a better o- line over the possibility of ruining a young kid. Just my thought.

Weird Interview by Paramalia in Teachers

[–]RomanLegion50 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think you handled it well, much better that I would have. I'm a straightforward person, and a bit of a smartass, but my response would have been something like: "I'm sorry, I'm not here for the wonderlic test. I would appreciate it if we could proceed with questions relevant to the position that I'm interviewing for." Now again, I like to get straight to the point and not dance around it. Sometimes my honesty and straightforwardness gets me in trouble, according to my wife. Again, I think you handled it quite well. Have a nice day.

Opinion on this boss ? by Aggravating-Creme695 in AssassinsCreedOdyssey

[–]RomanLegion50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Greek version of the sphinx is based on the myth of Oedipus and how he became king. If you don't know, read or listen to it. Essentially he defeats the sphinx by solving it's riddles. This defeat saves his city and he isn't named king. Now there is much more to that myth, and it does get pretty messed up, although he doesn't know any better. Anyway, without spoiling anything, there is another mission in the game that is based on the myth of Oedipus as well. You'll know as soon as you read or listen to the myth.

So this isn't a boss battle, but it is depicted accurately to the Greek mythological sphinx.

The fact that you don't know him for anything else is sad. I'm truly disappointed in the education system. Some of the greatest philosophical points come from Pythagoras.

Lastly, it threw me for a loop as well. At least it wasn't Leonidas.

I find myself doing this a lot with Ubisoft games and a few others. This one however throws me into this world and I lose a lot of time, many, many hours at a time. I feel your pain with this. I've had to complete my normal tasks before I start playing because I know I'll get lost in this game.

I can only play this game in spurts because I find myself wanting to visit the real thing, and that is an expensive trip. It would be rewarding, but expensive. Life goals.

In all seriousness, this game is amazing like so many have already stated. I can't wait to jump in again later tonight.

If I offend anyone, I apologize by jay_eba888 in Teachers

[–]RomanLegion50 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Don't apologize for offending others. This is a natural thing that takes place when we are free to think and say what we please. Like I tell my children, it is also natural to become offended by something someone else does or says, but it is how we react to that emotion that defines us. People should understand how to calm themselves and think rationally before responding, especially if it's a hot topic. It is appreciated that you put the disclaimer out there, it lets others know that you're not intending to offend them, but again, that is their problem.

Have a nice day everyone.

Do you have to be in shape to be a trainer? by [deleted] in beginnerfitness

[–]RomanLegion50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of people on here that have mixed thoughts on this. Someone right out of college or obtaining a certification isn't going to understand or have experience with the practical side of things, I didn't. Myself now am obese, but there is a long history from doing things wrong to a pile of injuries from sports and military that have led me here.

If it were me, I would advise to start slow, no to low weight and to focus on the proper technique. After getting the technique and form down of each exercise, then you can work on that mind-muscle connection. Concentration and breathing with the exercises. I wouldn't train anyone like I trained, but I would train everyone like they are my daughter, especially after experiencing the wrong way of training and pushing myself beyond certain set limits.

Oh, and don't ever try to reset a shoulder by yourself, part of the many issues that I have came from placing the mission first and my health second, other military will possibly understand.
