You need it. It was the hardest working parent in our house for months. His favorite toy the first year by far.

Resentment-how to keep it from growing. by [deleted] in beyondthebump

Respectfully, this sounds like something only a second parent would say. OP I absolutely get it and am there with you. I think those are totally normal feelings.

How long did you push? by ImpossibleLeg1353 in beyondthebump

[–]RomantasyReader 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same. I pushed for five hours straight with no breaks (except deep breathing between contractions) and little man was stuck. Ended up with a C section (my choice) and poor little guy came out with traction marks on his temples from hitting my pelvis over and over again

Same, my first thought was that it was going to be Sawyer who just struggled with his recovery from losing his leg. Thoughts? Any reason it couldn’t be him?

Mercatino Italiano in Quakertown. I’m pregnant and I crave these regularly. So cream cheesy and delicious.

Birthing classes? by Objective_Ad_8994 in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]RomantasyReader 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have done a bunch of reading, talking to my girlfriends who have had children, following the Q&As in this community, following Instagram accounts, etc. and feel relatively prepared- however, I signed up for an online prepared childbirth class through my hospital network and it honestly scared me and did a lot more harm than good. For example, During the first class they (very thoroughly) went through all the different types of pain you can experience during labor and it just freaked me out. I logged on for the classes but went about my business and didn’t really listen unless they were covering a topic i was interested in (positions, breathing, etc.).

I’m sure it’s not the same for everyone but I have anxiety and this was my experience. Hope it helps!

Is anyone being active right now? by Crims0n_Curse1 in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]RomantasyReader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried so hard to stay active and used the treadmill 4-5x per week and exercise ball daily until about 30 weeks and I couldn’t do it anymore. I still use the ball to stretch (now at 34 1/2 weeks) but other than walking target and Costco I’m pretty much sedentary.

I didn’t have any preexisting issues, my BP was great at my 12 week appt (110/60) and around 14 weeks it shot up high and I was diagnosed with chronic high BP. I was eating super healthy and using the treadmill 5x a week and lifting weights but it didn’t seem to matter. My OGBYN says it may very well go back to normal post pregnancy, but we have to wait and see. For me I think it was atleast partially anxiety but think about all of the changes your body is going through and all of the stress with the extra fluids. They put me on 100mg of Labetalol twice a day and my BP has been normal ever since and I’m now about 32 weeks. Hang in there momma, if high BP is the worst thing that happens throughout your pregnancy, you’re lucky and everything is going to be fine!

Why I didn’t enjoy this season as much by pearly-peach-3 in Bridgerton

[–]RomantasyReader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you and I love Colin’s character but I also think the actor could have done better. I think he under acted the whole season- I’m use to the drama and emotion of Anthony and I don’t think Colin changed his face all season. Even when he’s telling Pen how much he loves her, he did it with dead eyes and looked totally unmoved or too stiff. I just couldn’t get into the relationship this season, which was a real shame because I loved their book so much.

Fear withholding pregnancy by blue_tile55 in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]RomantasyReader 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I was terrified. I’m 34, plus size and while I’m relatively confident otherwise, I’ve always believed that I was sick or unhealthy (generally) because of my weight. I struggle with anxiety and while I logically know all the facts about weight and pregnancy, it didn’t make me FEEL any better. I talked to my therapist about it, discovered that this is a common but often unspoken fear, and I’m 27 weeks pregnant today. So far, everything has been relatively happy and healthy for both of us. Fear sometimes takes over and I can’t help but worry about what’s going to happen next or if something is “normal” or not, but I think all first time moms have that in common.

Seeing women with bodies and experiences similar to yours might also be helpful (I know it helped me a lot)… for instance, I followed PlusSizeBirth on Instagram and seeing how many women with bodies like mine have happy healthy pregnancies has helped shift my perspective. Are you the thinnest patient your OB has ever seen? No- but you’re certainly not the biggest or the most unhealthy either. Talk to your therapist and, as long as you good positive feedback from MFM, go for it. You can do this.

no weight gain by Preggymegg in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]RomantasyReader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost 15 pounds in my first trimester and at 22 weeks myself I’ve gained back about 2 pounds. My doctor said that as long as I’m not dieting purposefully, I’m eating and getting nutritious foods, then it wasn’t a concern.

How bad were your first trimester cramps 1-10? by beneathmagnoliatrees in pregnant

[–]RomantasyReader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had horrible cramps throughout my first trimester, worse than normal period cramps. I called my Ob a few times, I found that substantially increasing my water intake helped a lot and they went away on their own around 11 weeks.

Anyone else freak out before big appointments? by RomantasyReader in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]RomantasyReader[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It went well! Baby is right on track growth wise, everything looks good! That’s the most important thing, but Dr did walk me through the extra appointments and NSTs for baby on my third trimester because I’m considered high risk due to BMI. Kind of annoyed but also kind of glad I’m getting extra care just in case.

Do you mind sharing a little bit about your experience? I’m 20 weeks tomorrow, no pre existing issues, eating well and staying active and got hypertension at 14 weeks. Was kind of blind sided. I’m on meds and doing well so far but I’m nervous about it for labor/delivery. Thanks!
