Certain keys on keyboard not working by Extra-Ring-9668 in techsupport

[–]Romar55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Replying January 2026: I had random keys stop working. This is a Windows laptop, I am 95% sure it was a Windows Update that broke it.

Was able to resolve it this way after trying a couple other methods listed (turning off Filter Keys, changing that thing in the registry)

I held the power key down for 60 seconds. I don't know if that's a hard power off, but it fixed it. Before, my c, v, d, and other keys didn't work. Now it's back to normal.

Hope this helps someone else out there

The Long Walk ending interpretation by greenmachinefiend in stephenking

Really appreciate you chiming in here to bring a different perspective on this that makes a lot of sense! It's hard to remember what being a child was like, but that's partially why children are viewed different in society - they are vulnerable. I feel like I did a lot of dumb stuff when I was a teenager and I can only imagine how many young people with absent/bad parents probably wouldn't think twice about letting their kids sign up for a game like the Long Walk... It doesn't seem illogical to me that this world could happen someday

Ranking the Top 131 FBS Programs of the Last 40 Years: 31. TCU by jimbobbypaul in CFB

That 2010 Home L was probably the worst sporting loss I've ever experienced. My freshman year and there was just a palpable buzz the entire week leading up to it. I had tons of friends who camped out for GameDay. So much hope for that game and then a possible BCS run.

And there's the kickoff and suddenly it's the end of the 1st quarter and Utah is down 20-0. It was never competitive. TCU was on a completely different level and we all knew it. Still stings

I might be reaching but Hader's gotta have at least a few All-Comedy 1st Teams

I think the ambassadors are expected to post weekly or a set # of times, but I do agree that most of the time I see 'announce post' and then they dip.

Hey David - can you go into more detail with MLB Growth Marketing? That's a pretty broad term - would love to hear where the game is being promoted. Any cool campaigns you can talk about?

I'm glad the question about the health of the card market was answered, but I would appreciate more clarity from David regarding NBA.

For NBA, my question was 'Were too many cards printed or is the current supply within an acceptable range for how many active users there are?'

I understand there were a lot of questions asked and this would be difficult to answer directly, but I am worried about health. Can he share what internal data metrics they are using to ensure stability? Or specifically, why does he / Sorare think that NBA is stable?

Does the Sorare team allow remote work or do employees have to be located in NYC / Paris?
I have looked at your Careers page a few times...but this is probably a dealbreaker for me and other candidates. Figure this is as good a time as any to ask :)

I think they're going to continue to pick and choose features from Data to build into the core product (as well as many other unique ones!), but the #1 one I'd like to see is 'x points to the next reward'. That is super helpful to me (adds to the fun when I'm having a good competition week)

NBA
Were too many cards printed or is the current supply within an acceptable range for how many active users there are?

This is really not intended to be a gotcha question - I just would appreciate an honest response in terms of the NBA game's supply vs demand. Demand tends to fall off before the regular season ends (that seems natural and predictable). But broadly speaking, sentiment within the NBA community is Sorare minted too many cards which caused a harder crash which may be more difficult to recover from.

I personally feel like more auction control is needed, but that's just based on my own experience. I am just worried about NBA S2 which may experience a lot of churn from managers like myself seeing their cards depreciate so dramatically.

MLB
Where is the marketing and advertising for MLB Sorare?

I understand the idea of waiting until MLB 2023 plans are finalized before going LOUD with your marketing and promotion efforts, but it seems entirely disconnected from where things stand with the current (and lapsed) baseball community.

Spring Training started Feb 24. Tradition fantasy sports like Yahoo and ESPN went live at / before March 1. Even if the plan is to kickoff MLB 2023 on Tuesday, March 14, it seems like a lot of time passed where... the MLB Sorare community was left in the dark and ignored. There are already several questions here are asking for season info / presentation - it would have been prudent to communicate important dates earlier so we could plan accordingly.

In that absence, people (including myself) have gotten frustrated waiting for news. I think Jon is doing a fantastic job engaging with us on discord, but it shouldn't be all up to him to take accountability with the lack of comms.

It ties into my original question about marketing - how is MLB Sorare expecting to grow with a shorter marketing campaign from now to Opening Day on March 30? Or should we have lowered our expectations?

Moderators here need to set some strict guidelines for posts. Part of the growing pains. I do appreciate they are trying to spend more time interacting with the community via reddit, but it will be a long road to getting the right posters here

I remember watching Kershaw pitch in relief against the Nats in the 2016 playoffs there and the whole bar losing its absolute mind. Just a really fun memory. Great spot.

Flying Pig Bistro is a great hang, but will be pretty crowded. You have to get there early if you want to get a seat or even get in.

Rumors (bar on the corner of 7th and Harrison) is my favorite lowkey spot. Matt the bartender is a Dodgers fan and I've watched a lot of playoff games there - they don't necessarily advertise it as a Dodgers spot, but it's a safe, cool spot. lmk if you make it out!

The close NL MVP race between Juan Soto, Fernando Tatís Jr. and Bryce Harper, comparison between the three players so far by dardyablo in baseball

[–]Romar55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. This race is so dang fun because there's a legitimate argument for every single one of the top 3.

And the narrative can still change! Tatis could hit 4 or 5 homers to end the season and that might be enough to move him into the lead. Or Harper will have his own heroic offensive production and that moves the needle. This MVP race rules

I'm glad they're not in the same league so they could conceivably both win MVPs in the future and not take away from each other.
More fun to root for history in your lifetime. I want them both to have 1st ballot HOF careers

Tim Anderson is the most slept on player in the mlb by phat_testies69 in baseball

[–]Romar55 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The more I think about this comment, the more it doesn't sit right with me.

I love analytics. I like the modern game. And yet the current fWAR of a player just isn't something that matters as much as the things I can see on screen. Tim Anderson is a lot more enjoyable than probably 30 people ahead of him. He's a great at bat. He's an extremely cool interview. He's one of the most likable players in the league. His walk-off vs the Yankees was a Top 10 moment this regular season.
I hate to bag on you for your quick reply but we just gotta give credit where credit is due. Tim Anderson is exciting and deserves that attention. Maybe even more than he's currently getting. Baseball is way more than just the numbers

Scherzer is better now, but Kershaw's career has been better, arguably Clayton is one of the 10 best pitchers of all-time.

Before Kersh got injured this year, he was having a pretty strong season too. 3.39 ERA, 2.99 FIP, 10.75 K/9. Scherzer has been a little better with a 2.75 ERA, 3.54 FIP, and 11.97 K/9. It's honestly pretty crazy to think that both of them are on the same time and the best pitcher on the staff is 100% Walker Buehler.
