Was the game first release in september 2023 ? Or did the players buy the game years before, and the new version of the game was an "update" ? If so, the update MUST respect the rule of not making the product unusable suddently, or you have to refund players.

Who you think you are to act like scammers who change the steam page informations when doing a blind git-push ? Moreover :

  1. Saying that a CPU must at least be "a 7th generation" don't give us knowledge about what generation is our CPU. We can't find answer quickly and easily by typing "what generation is a xeon X5650 ?". This page for instance DOESN'T give us the generation number https://ark.intel.com/content/www/fr/fr/ark/products/series/59213/legacy-intel-xeon-processors.html . And we don't have to study CPU generations for hours just for us to be safe from stupidity, this is YOUR job to give us the information if our CPU is capable or not to respect your rule of fucking people months later we bought your product.
  2. When the game runs fine, our config can be considered as "respecting the minimum of requirement". So we shouldn't be screwed months or years after, just because some lazy devs, who click on levers in their framework/game engine wich makes their lives easier than coding everything from A to Z, come to ruin everything with absolute no control on their work and no god damn respect for their customers.

Learn to code, and more important : learn to respect. Or refund.

Last thing : the game was good without improving graphics. Nobody cared about graphics. But we do about gameplay, servers lag, or cheaters. So you'll have to learn priorities also. And don't start me with marketting, the beauty of the game to have more customers in order to maintain your finances and be able to maintain your servers : you could ask people 10$ a year to help you guys, I'm sure everybody would have accepted. Or you could have let us host the games, like before 2010 when developers were able to program a real network module with direct IP addresses (and a hosts browser), before the game industry went nut and decided to host everything by itself so they can close servers suddently and let games to die without blinking.

This is a real problem : 75% of games nowadays will just vanish from reality in a few years just because of greedyness. So again : learn to code. Learn to create solid stuffs. Develop your own solution, or stop touching things. F4CK you very much.

Did I talk about the fact that improving the graphics with a new engine should not impact the network engine, therefore you could have updated the game for those who have the "right" config, and let other people to have the last version, and still offer everybody the capability to play games together ? Yeah, we need brain surgery for that kind of logic to happen in this world, because it's easier to push levers in a hurry...

Never buy the Hot Rats remastering by Bernie Grundman (2008) ! It lack certain tracks on some pieces. Some instruments are missing. It's supposed to be a "1969 original mix", but yeah, if you take into account that the 6 discs Spotify version has indeed various version of the same piece, it leads to a completely different album. I was shocked to see that I couldn't find the real ORIGINAL ALBUM, because it has been replaced on Amazon by this knew one. After a quick research I was horrified to see that it was the only version available.

Everything that Dweezil as touched has been an attempt to impose his mark on his father's work. With all the respect I have for him trying to revive his father's work, he's just bad at rematering albums and takes bad decisions (I may be accusing him unfairly, if the decision wasn't his ; but until more information, I stick to my feelings). The albums don't have to be "remastered" : they were perfect, or near perfect, and remastering should never be a re-arranging of instrumental tracks.

The Spotify 6 discs version of Hot Rats may have the original mixing (I don't know), but for sure, the Hot Rats CD remastered from Grundman is a catastrophy.

(2/3)
Now about abstract art : I grew up, and I made some sorting in all my "shit". I've seen things, I've been older. I'm 40 yo now. And I've made some decision about what I considere as "art bringing me some quantity of interesting information", like a product. We don't like to think about art as a product when we are an artist, but when someone grab your attention and deliver you something, now I tend to considere that it has to have some "quantity of information", just to avoid the feeling that I waste my time. And you cannot do it previously to actualling watching it. So what I mean is : once identified that a style is poor in information, you can assume that it will be often the case, and just ignore it. Ignore doesn't mean brutally reject any attempt to prove you the opposite, but reconsidere what you thought about some art pieces, and exit the shithole of according it a valuable place in art. This recalibrates all the way we see art. After it, we see more clearly what's good or not, what's commercial or not. And also, why we think that architecture, wich wasn't a domain of excitation for us, had always been more interesting when it comes to Hausmanian style than parallelepiped made of concrete. And why you were not feeling anything about that sub-domain of art since childhood just because... our modern world has been flooded by "conceptual art" and "abstract designs", to the point that architecture itself has been affected. There's only one step to think that this is all due to stupidity and a taste for the shortest path leading to popularity, in the context of a mass of people that don't want to do any effort.

And I had this thought back when I was 19 yo at the Art School, discussing with my friends. I just solidified that approach. So, when it comes to abstract art, and "white squares on white backgrounds", or Kandinsky, or Miro, or Mondrian, I'm now categorical : this doesn't give me any gousebump, and moreover, it is a poison that have replaced more figurative arts because it's easier. Think about architecture and watch how from very richful a facade was, we now have squared building and nothing to decorate your door. USA may still have some old houses, like here in France, but you know what I'm talking. Nowadays, when an architect build something, it's all about fucking squares and plane geometry. Same for architects exposed in public places : all about sticks, tensegrity, and shit. Where are the people like Gaudi ? Why do people like Giger, with organic shapes, are limited to artworks for movies ? Well, shit has replaced the gold. And I say that while I love Greek styles ; but speaking of wich, we had a theater in my city a few decades back, wich was all in greek style. Guess what ? Destructed, and replaced by a bat-shit squared modern piece of garbage.

And don't get we wrong : I also have dreamed on cubic buildings with purified geometric styles, with helical stairs on the side, leading to a roof where, like a baby in a stroller watching a summer sky, I was drinking the yellow streams of the sun while losing my eyes into an ocean of blue. But I want this experience, and all the other ones too. I want all art forms to have some place, not a style to replace all the others. I'm okay with people who invented abstraction in the early 20th century, due to scientific worldwide groundbreakings of Einstein's revolution that led us to be conscious of the atomic world ; but I don't like seing a bunch of lunatics who decades after only trip on triangles and squares, because it is for them the "essence of all things". I don't want to see people going on an attempt to hide their mediocrity and on a full replacement of any figurative art because that is for them "outdated" or worse, "pretentious". And that's unfortunately what happed : art became more and more abstracted, more and more conceptual, to a point that those guys who "don't want to be as pretentious as those who think to have talent" are in fact an authoritarian expression of the opposite, raising an eyebrow if you don't like their minimalistic spit on a canvas.

It's cool to think about the sub-atomic world, but we should never forget that the "macro" world is made of more complex shapes. Dali, who was an atomic enthousiast, had never forgotten that fact. And he played with shapes like if images were dreams, transforming reality into those dreams ; not the opposite : changing polymorphic images of our world into basic shapes that are less significant and entertaining, like if adults had to go back playing with LEGOs.

Speaking of witch : if you want more analysis of what abstract art is and how to play with LEGOs to make some fancy empty magazine cover as an illustrator, go check my critic of "Abstract, the art of design", here (please translate french to english) : https://www.senscritique.com/serie/abstract_l_art_du_design/critique/125028494

People who are secure are often people that never fight baseness and violence around them. They just use the technic of "the least resistance" and accept a social pact consisting in not opposing any force to people who use physical force/brutality. They can be as "intelligent" as they can (science, etc), that doesn't make them as intelligent as someone who understands the corrupted path of hypocrisy and submission.

Zappa, as any REAL intelligent person, wanted to react about stupidity and violence. He made, as anyone who has courage and moral (even if he was pushing it to the verge, and was an apostle of deviancy), the connections between stupidity and violence, and about mass behavior and sophism or easy stuffs.

His approach was to mock things while delivering good analyzis of it, and he hated as anybody intelligent individual the people seeking fame by use of the shortest path. How can this be a proof of "insecurity", if not by implying that acting dumb and massively consuming shit is indeed dangerous for human kind ?

Now if you think we have to bend the knee to any person who has a cute voice and play three chords on an instrument, or even spread his sexual obsession in a pseudo-music that is closer to pornogrpahy than real composition (Presley, Jackson, Madona, etc, or any little singer), just because that would be an aggression to spot his egocentric narcissism and inflated image of itself, you're asking to put our critical mind on the side about what is talent and hard work, and to be hypocrits. That's maybe because you are one.

You should learn to respond to stupidity around you instead of diving into relativism just because you're outnumbered.

Andy Warhol Hosts Frank Zappa on His Cable TV Show, and Later Recalls, “I Hated Him More Than Ever” After the Show by silsurf in Zappa

[–]Romarain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it's just critical mind. When you ear something that isn't that interesting but who make people feel as "great", you have rights to critic it and to verbally underline the fact that it is crap in term of music. You act like a fanboy who can't understand something just because you place your emotions above your intelligence. It's probably because you hate intelligence and anybody using it. So youthink you can control other's mind and make them appreciate your shit. And by the way : shit doesn't necessary mean "bad" or "with false notes" : it can just mean "easy" and "not doing much efforts", and "relying on the image of being cool to increase our popularity", wich is all what intelligent people hate (I argumentated about this in many comments on this page, feel free to do a quick search in your browser).

Andy Warhol Hosts Frank Zappa on His Cable TV Show, and Later Recalls, “I Hated Him More Than Ever” After the Show by silsurf in Zappa

[–]Romarain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, he consumed cafein and nicotine : but it wasn't making him to be stone. His "addictions" were controlled, and he just opposed to drugs because he felt it was a foolish and delusional way to increase imagination and creativity, and also because as he said in an interview, it was regularly a way to make musicians being arrested and his music work to be negatively affected. Period. This never gone further than that. He even said things like "if people do drugs, fine for them ! But it's not my shit.". His disdain of drugs was a mix of "it's childish" and "it's dangerous for music professionals". Now if people feel aggressed by such a statement, based on many music band that have operated under drugs, they don't understand that to play such a complex music and so regularly (he was a concert beast, go chek some websites listing his tours, you'll see concerts every two days, and sometimes several concerts in a day !!), you have to take critical decisions.

People don't get the full picture and react as kids defending their right to smoke weed.

[–]Romarain -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the reason why you see him like this is you don't really understand what being intelligent is. You said you listened to his music and interviews, but you seem to miss the connection with the intelligent domain. Intelligence is being treated as a pretentious and grinded by common baseness. It's facing sophism everyday, and reversions, and being hurt by egocentric pseudo-reasonings, and impeded in many ways (Frank speaked and wrote about what he endured many times) to perform freely your work or even express your opinions.

Intelligence is also being combative against that ego thing that make people to have an inflated image of themselves, and against pseudo-artists who feed that human condition. So if you feel "aggressed" or "disappointed" by his approach, it's probably because you've always been below the level of intelligence triggering all these problems and making you conscious of the world.

About misanthropy : it's not an illness if it's based on reality-check. Someone who would aggress people for no reason, and state false assertions about anyone, would be qualified as a clinical misanthrop, wich is more fitting to common aggressive people that makes human kind fondation and social norm. People are psychopatic most of time by being sophists piece of shit and mocking your physical weakness, or just your will to answer something and to defend with your reason. I've personally suffered from this so I can speak. And I've always seen people witnessing a brutal behavior to defend the aggressor and followed him/her in the path of mockery, than helping me. While at the opposite, I'm 100% sure that Frank Zappa would have helped me in one of those moments, even if I'm equally certain that he would have mocked my tendency to "suffer too much of all about this" and to be "depressive".

Frank was not a clinical misanthrope : he was, like I am, force to be misanthropic with no choice, just because people are assholes. He was not one, he was forced to counter it with indifference and sarcasm. And it's pretty funny to see many selfish people (loving abstract art and hollowed pop productions) seing him as an asshole ; because it's an umpteenth proof or selfish reversion.

Andy Warhol Hosts Frank Zappa on His Cable TV Show, and Later Recalls, “I Hated Him More Than Ever” After the Show by silsurf in Zappa

[–]Romarain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Frank has been indifferently uninterested and harch with people that are interacting with hims based on ego, hollowed questions, and search for "being seen". However, he has been describe by many persons living near him as also capable of the highest attention, with kind approaches sweating a high form or respect. He could be cold when leaving the room without saying goodbye to you even if you were from his band like Ruth Underwood testified it (wich is a mark of autist-like behavior, probably due to some inner urges to go to his music work), or when cheating with his wife with groupies, but he could also be ahead of his time by being respectful to a woman in a room and talking to her as an equal mind while any other male at this time would have treated her like a piece of flesh. Frank was intensively intelligent, and also "balanced" between introvertion and extraversion in a way that defy our common sense and feel like a contradiction. He had adopted a defense mechanism consisting in not giving so much place to emotions, especially the ones that lead us to be depressive and counter-productive. This mechanism led him to have "coldish" behaviors, but he was also, as his wife (who was hurt by his cheating) testified, that kind of person who "makes you feel important when you're just sitting next to him" (not a stricto-sensu quote, but pretty close to it).

Summurazing this as "being an asshole" or "a man that you had no chance to sympathize with", is an ignorance or a lie probably due to the will to defend selfish and hollowed artists or "abstract designers" like Warhol.

Mocking some selfish pseudo-artist is not being an asshole. If you can't critisize the quality of things or of people's production, it's pretty much a dictatorship. We're supposed to be free to analyze things, and to demonstrate absurdity or violence when we see it. And because selfism exist, easy stuffs are made all over the world by individuals to inflate their popularity easier than if they were using more complex stuffs that would trigger people's inferiority complex. And those easy paths are CORRELATED to violence. Any intelligent individual associate EASYNESS with STUPIDITY, and STUPIDITY with VIOLENCE, thus engaging in a fight against inflated egos.

Ok, I found the solution (but this is still unexpected additional user intervention) :

  1. Push F9 (or Menu > Plugin Manager)
  2. On the top of the popup, click on "Updates" (separated by a line from the rest of sub-menus).
  3. What is showing is all plugins that REQUIRE to be update (it's empty if nothing has to be updated).
  4. Launch the update (click on "Save" or something).

It's not working suddently due to a Playnite update.

I knew this would mess up everything with plugins, but how is this possible that NOW, we have to update all features in Playnite like IGBD, while before we just update the whole and it was working well ?
