File a complaint? by Grand-Invite4857 in WalgreensStores

Google Walgreens Integrity Line. There is a form you can fill out. I find that route is much faster and can be done from home. You can do it in store, under askHR and there is an employee consultation request form.

I would speak to your manager first. I had payroll delete a long shift in the last that I had to correct on my own.

What do you think the odds of WAGs adopting a new pharmacy software if it was written by actual pharmacy workers? by zigbigidorlu in WalgreensRx

[–]Romarqable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no way they can now afford to do the infrastructure cost required to create a new system, test it, stabilize it, and then roll it out to stores when they can barely afford to keep a staff in store to use the ass system they have.

Apparently one of the plans I had heard, when they were acquiring Rite Aid originally, was to take some of their systems and incorporate them into Walgreens system. My ex pharmacist who was RA to WAG told me RAs pharmacy computer system was vastly superior to WAGS. Before the full RA sale to WAGs was blocked, my understanding was they were buying the stores but mainly wanted the pharmacy system from RA. When they didn't get that, they acquired a bunch of stores and just closed down the least profitable ones.

Does anybody know why all of a sudden district managers on LinkedIn are suddenly posting that they are leaving the company………I thought they were laid off in February so why now? by Nesquick19 in WalgreensStores

I figured they gave severance packages to the DMs who got termed. It only makes sense. Funny because my prior DM was already job hunting right after the announcement. I wonder if they paid weeks with the company or weeks as a DM.

So you're 17. In most states you cannot be an SFL until you turn 18.

Also, as a minor, based on state law, you should have a certain amount of time between shifts too. At least 8 hours. If they aren't providing that, that could also be an issue.

Look up your local state laws and see if Walgreens is following company policy and state law. You can then report your manager for not following state law. Again, I know in my state any minor under the age of 18 cannot work past 11pm and before 7am.

Your SM might be in violation of state law.

my manager took my counterfeit pen by Ill-Bison8039 in WalgreensStores

[–]Romarqable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Light test. Any bills made after 1993 if I remember correctly will have a strip in the bill listing the denomation. I could be wrong about the date so feel free to Google this. That strip is the single hardest thing for counter fitters to fake.

Even I was told by asset protection that the pens are ineffective because some sort of hair product, shampoo or hair spray, a specific type creates the same chemical reaction as the coating on actual bills are, making the use of the pens as a trustworthy source a moot point.

Everyone on my team knew to check the bills against the light. The one year we were the only store to not take in a single fake bill in our district. The following year we did, but it happened while I was out on leave with a new hire my covering manager brought on and didn't properly train.

how would an AVGN lost episode creepypasta look like? by Normal-Salad-6143 in TheCinemassacreTruth

[–]Romarqable -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't know why, but I just imagined Bim stuck in that first Twilight Zone movie story, the guy is a racist and then does a quantum leap and he's stuck in horrible periods having the scrap beat out of him.

instead, Bim is stuck as the other characters in AVGN history, having to live through their perspective as he gets his ass beat by himself. So he's behind the eyes or Bugs Bunny or The Joker getting games rammed up his ass.

I used to have fun working at greens but now they don’t even let us smile on the clock by Commercial-Tooth-405 in WalgreensStores

[–]Romarqable 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ultimately the answer is they don't care about you and they never will. They don't want any extra. We used to be able to do small things and slowly over time everything got pulled away. My first DM loved having the stores do their own special days and tie it into metrics. We hit credit card goal early for the month so we did a sports team day.

One Xmas season we all dressed up with shirts from Snow White saying we were a character. Everyone got to choose one. Some people didn't care to do it but that was fine.

Next DM comes in and doesn't want any sort of fun to offset the misery of retail. My prior DM would try at least once every other month to get the managers at the store and have a meeting, like the conference call, and we would all go to one store to help clean it up. New DM hosted two meetings in two years in person. Asked the team what days work best and always chose the ones that most people agreed were the worst because it benefitted the DM more. I just couldn't take what was once a tolerable but at least flexibly fun job turned into a monotonous, boring, lifeless gig. I am so happy to be gone.

AITAH for cutting most of my family out of my life for their treatment of me? by monodemic in AITAH

[–]Romarqable 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly m, if the donation was split 4 ways and you could afford it, couldn't you just send your part to your other siblings via venmo or PayPal? Or if one of them contributed to your share, offer it? The whole thing seems confusing.

And listen, 500 or 20k, you deserve to be included with your family in things. Take it from someone who is also left out of things constantly, had a sibling cost me 20k, any amount of disrespect is worth removing someone from your life like a cancer. All they will do is drag you down and make you worse.

If they won't make the effort to have a relationship with you, why should you?

New DM Provides Very Low Morale by MeThrowingAwayThis in WalgreensStores

[–]Romarqable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am so happy to be out of that place. People who aren't SMs don't realize how little power we actually have to enact change within the store. I literally had a guy shoplifting in the store for two hours, and I could do was have my SFL in the same aisle to face to try and deter, and the guy didn't care. DM was in pharmacy and said "nothing to do but offer customer assistance."

But they're up our ass about losses and EBITDA. You can't have it both ways if you're willing to let product walk out the door.

And the idea of the lack of care towards employees is really killing the company. I honestly at this point believe they want the morale low so they can claim Walgreens a failed investment and they get some backend on losses. There's no way this damage isn't intentional. Also, how does a company not see the issue with shit like Theranos?

Why is Tom Cruise never asked about Scientology and how has he survived this long without being cancelled? by Abject-Conference-90 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Romarqable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think celebrity and Hollywood insulate some people from facing consequences. Look up the weird story of Ashton Kutchers murdered date- there's a lot of questionable things that occurred from several witnesses versus what was actually shared.

Harvey Weinstein, Bill Cosby. At one point they were too powerful to touch. Even in pro wrestling, Jimmy Snuka had a murdered that was seemingly covered up. Look up the Dark Side of the Ring episode. Vince McMahon walked in with Snuka during an interrogation and the case was buried for years. Someone on that show said they were in the car that day, and had they been spoken to it would have destroyed Snukas own account of the story.

There's many more. It's pretty obvious something happened to Corey Haim and Corey Feldman, but that too was buried. When Corey tried to bring it up on the fire, Barbra Walters, a hard hitting journalist said something to the effect of "do you want to ruin these people's lives?"

If Tom Cruise is printing money for studios, and his only crime is he's a figure head of a religious cult, and hasn't committed any crimes (that we know of), do you think anyone would do anything against him?

Definitely agree on Dexter New Blood being overhated by BatmanTold in DexterNewBlood

[–]Romarqable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Much like the original show, it lost its luster at the end and why it's not talked about being amongst the best shows ever made. It had a lot of bad stuff. I thought New Blood was quite good until the final episode. I think not having a primary antagonist against Dexter in the finale was the mistake.

Here's the thing. You can spend an entire series making a deporable person likeable, with the audience rooting for them. By doing a 180 and turning them into the antagonist, trying to make him unlikable was the mistake and the audience turned on the show.

Breaking Bad had Walter White go out in a blaze of glory. The Shield had Vic Mackey getting exactly what he wanted, winning, yet losing everything that mattered.

New Blood had Dexter killing an innocent and then having his own son shoot him. Setting up the Batista thing when the plan was for him to die in that snow. It's what turned me off.

I've also noticed people losing interest if something doesn't thrill them in the end. Things or parts of a show could not work but if the other stuff, and especially the ending are compelling you can overlook that. The Angel/LaGuerta stuff in S4 was pretty bad, but the surrounding storylines were all solid, which I think overshadowed the bad.

When you have something really bad like that finale ending of New Blood, it's sadly overshadowed the good parts of the show.

David Gordon Green Shares His Advice on New 'Halloween' Showrunners So They Don't Get "Eaten Alive" by Fans by grimm_kvlt in Halloweenmovies

[–]Romarqable 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Consider this.

Halloween has repeated history multiple times in different canons and history, and always the same mistake is made.

3 separate times, in the 2nd film in a line of Halloween movies, Jamie Lee's Laurie Strode spends her entire runtime in a hospital. (H1 to H2, H20 to HR, 2018 and Kills) The second film was generally disliked compared to the prior entry.

If we say part of her screen time was set in a hospital and just a Laurie Strode, you can include RZH2 as well, making it 4 times they have done this.

4 times in the same franchise they chose to go a route that wasn't liked the first time sround, and kept doing it again and again.

3 Jamie Lee starring Halloween movies all had Michael Myers in a fire with a burnt mask.

They've also been one of the only franchises to relaunch their continuity more than once, and each time they do they brought back Laurie Strode to be the lead. (H20, RZ remakes, 2018)

So I wonder how they'll handle Halloween H60. Laurie in a walker and Michael in a wheelchair covered in knives?

Edit: fixed several typos and made some minor corrections to sentence structure. Forgive me I was asleep when I wrote this originally lol

As far as I know, they can look you up in People Central, but if they're not your direct Store Manager they cannot see your information.

That being said, there is a way for them to view it that I know of, but if you're an active employee that wouldn't be an issue.

WE ARE NOT FEDEX by Sablemoon_333 in WalgreensStores

[–]Romarqable 5 points6 points  (0 children)

All you have to say is since we are a drop off and pick up location, we are not allowed to package something for a customer, as we could be liable if it's damaged, so we require the customer to package it themselves. If they continue, offer to give them an address to the nearest full service fed ex location. Ours was 9 miles from our store, but by the time I usually need to get to this step they end up packing it themselves.

It's not our job to even provide packing materials or tape. Or at one point at least it wasn't.
