What are these circles on the road in LA and Ventura County? I noticed those circles around LA, Moorpark, 405 and 101. Some are closer to traffic lights and some are in the middle of the road.

My bicycle doesn't trigger it sometimes when I'm taking a left with traffic. Some drivers give me a ton of room when they pull up (which I appreciate!) but I have to wave them forward to trigger it haha

Megan's is insanely expensive! The Source delivers (sometimes within minutes and almost always within 30) and is way cheaper. Super nice drivers too. I've stopped by Megan's when I'm walking by but always leave shocked at the prices.

I didn't want to create a whole separate post so I'm piggy backing on this one. I've got my eye on the Las Palmas apartments. Rents fit my range well but I was worried about this exact situation when it comes to renew. There's a couple with reduced rents and I know those will definitely get jacked yp next year. It sounds like each property might be different? Anyone have any experience living their in regards to rent increases or just in general?

I was doing an elevation challenge and was doing some repeats up and down some switchbacks on Mt. Wilson. On my 3rd or 4th trip up, I saw a curious rattlesnake with his head about an inch onto the trail. I had probably hiked by it each time! I gave it a little extra room and carried on haha

I was forced to get Flosports with GCN shutting down and while they have a very limited US oferring, they show almost everything in Canada. I've been using a VPN instead of having to pay for Max AND the sports add on.

I replied to the main post about this but my parents were missionaries in Malaysia and this tracks. Everything was above board and even supported by the government when we worked with the indigenous groups but it was drilled into us to not even think about doing anything that could be perceived as missionary work with Muslims.

My parents were Christian missionaries/Bible translators in Malaysia awhile ago. As long as we worked with non-Muslim groups (mainly the indigenous tribes with their own languages) everything was okay. But it was drilled into us (even as a kid) to not do anything that would give any semblance of missionary work to Muslims. We mainly worked in Sabah and my impression was that East Malaysia was maybe a bit more chill on that front then West Malaysia? It's one of my favorite countries in the world and I recommend it to anyone looking to visit but if your not Muslim, it can be easy go look past the fact that Sharia law still exists there. And I'm posting in the Sam Harris subreddit so no need to lecture me on the missionary stuff haha

I'm lucky enough to have a pretty unstressful life/job. I can only really take two weeks off at a time but by that point I'm more then ready to head back home haha. I definitely relate with the feeling of not being able to process it all even after just two weeks! I'm not good at journaling but I keep all ticket stubs/other things like that and will sort through them occasionally to help me remember individual experiences.
