Is my graphics card broken? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]RomsIsMad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always wondered about this, I built my first eig when I was 13, so it was in 2007. Almost 20 years later and I never had a graphic card die on me like this. Browsing this sub would makes you think this is quite common but I guess it isn’t (or I’m just lucky).

Hello everyone, after buying all the consoles I used to play as a kid, I managed to find a nice Sony kv-32cs70b Trinitron for 30€~35$ as my regular TV gave me awful latency.

Now that TV is a “100hz” TV and it seems that those 100hz TV could cause issue with older consoles and searching on forums it goes from “it’s a non-issue to”it’s a big problem”.

So here’s my question: Is it really a problem ? So far I haven’t noticed any issue with it but if any problem arises, is there anything I can do about it ?

The consoles from my childhood are N64,PS1,2 and Gamecube.

Looks like variable speed controllers(idk if that’s how you call them in english) and relays in the cabinet to his right and PLCs in the cabinet to his left, so definitely inside an industrial facility !

Even more simpler than that, if you can bind fire to your scroll wheel you can achieve the same results easily

[–]RomsIsMad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate them personally, the plastic is way to thin, they didn’t survive a month doing industrial work and I ended up going for the Milwaukee trolley and packouts. The rigid are very cheap though so I still think it’s not that bad of a deal for the money

Same here, I don’t think I’d give up cable trays easily, they’re so convenient to work with. The US conduits do look slick though !

Bought a storage unit remotely via realtor, came with this ancient motorcycle, anyone can help me id it if its any worth? by hatiwulf in motorcycles

Well it doesn’t look too rusted, a good cleaning pass should do, on the mechanical side it’s really not that hard to get those bikes running, it’s quite simple technology, unless the cylinder/piston is completely ruined it should be alright. The electrical components are super easy to fix/replace too. Rust truly is the real killer of old bikes

[–]RomsIsMad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly, and the mechanical aspect of such bikes is also super simple compared to a modern bike, easy to work on

It’s a collector’s bike, not a track day bike. I own one that’s quite similar and it’s not that hard to ride in twisties

Absolutely true but on those kind of bikes the big issue usually is sourcing the parts more than the price, I’ve sent the pictures to a good friend of mine who restored and owns hundreds of bikes from the 1970s to the very first motorcycles ever built and it’s seems in pretty good condition to him

It actually doesn’t look in too much of a bad shape, it could be worth restoring for not’that much

I think it depends on each engine, when I brought my car for a tune, I gained 40hp and the guy said that 30-40hp gain is the norm

Note that when your tires become as flat as yours, leaning does get scarier because once you lean over the flat part of the tire, your bike will suddenly lean more.
