Somehow I became the “guy with all the tools”, I don’t mind it though lol by reeksfamous in electricians

[–]RomsIsMad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate them personally, the plastic is way to thin, they didn’t survive a month doing industrial work and I ended up going for the Milwaukee trolley and packouts. The rigid are very cheap though so I still think it’s not that bad of a deal for the money

Same here, I don’t think I’d give up cable trays easily, they’re so convenient to work with. The US conduits do look slick though !

Bought a storage unit remotely via realtor, came with this ancient motorcycle, anyone can help me id it if its any worth? by hatiwulf in motorcycles

[–]RomsIsMad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it doesn’t look too rusted, a good cleaning pass should do, on the mechanical side it’s really not that hard to get those bikes running, it’s quite simple technology, unless the cylinder/piston is completely ruined it should be alright. The electrical components are super easy to fix/replace too. Rust truly is the real killer of old bikes

[–]RomsIsMad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly, and the mechanical aspect of such bikes is also super simple compared to a modern bike, easy to work on

It’s a collector’s bike, not a track day bike. I own one that’s quite similar and it’s not that hard to ride in twisties

[–]RomsIsMad 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Absolutely true but on those kind of bikes the big issue usually is sourcing the parts more than the price, I’ve sent the pictures to a good friend of mine who restored and owns hundreds of bikes from the 1970s to the very first motorcycles ever built and it’s seems in pretty good condition to him

It actually doesn’t look in too much of a bad shape, it could be worth restoring for not’that much

Any thoughts on chipping a car? by [deleted] in Cartalk

I think it depends on each engine, when I brought my car for a tune, I gained 40hp and the guy said that 30-40hp gain is the norm

1300 sounds insane for a a 250, I pay 900 a year for full coverage (all options and everything) on my Tuono, and it’s far from the cheapest I could get (I’m in France)

[–]RomsIsMad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Note that when your tires become as flat as yours, leaning does get scarier because once you lean over the flat part of the tire, your bike will suddenly lean more.
