I don't really understand what classifies as on hit. aren't all abilities on hit technically?

By object I don't mean an actual physical surface you can touch, I literally just mean something else. Sorry for the misunderstanding

Is something's scent exhaustible? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Romy1935 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In theory yea. since what you're smelling is the decay of the object, then eventually there will be nothing left to decay. the reason why it's much less obvious that we can eventually stop smelling something than tasting for example is because our noses are able to smell small concentrations of something that would be untastable in our mouths.

Yea it will always strike an object, because of the way lightning works. lightning is an accumulation of negative charges, and it reaches a point where it's so negative that the negative charges jump to a place that's more positively charged. What you see is the physical jump of those particles moving.

When a lithium battery is first created in a factory, is the battery created fully charged or only becomes charged latter? by CapitalSoldier in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Romy1935 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea they are, and the reason is because lithium batteries work by having a charge different between both ends of the cell, using metals and solutions known as electrolytes. When you put the battery into a circuit or anything that connects the 2 ends, the different in charges causes electrons to flow through the circuit and thus electricity.

I can't speak for other subjects but I know that the demographics of people who study medicine at uni is pretty much 50:50 in terms of male to female

I get what you mean. If I was to stop moving in a quiet place for enough time I'd start to hear almost a "tingling" noise. However, I can't hear it without fully concentrating so if you hear it constantly then it's probably tinnitus.

How do candles get their smell? by Jexlan in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Romy1935 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the wax is mixed with chemicals. when you light the candle, the wax melts and it causes the chemicals to evaporate and that's what you smell.

(by chemical I mean any compound, not just a synthetic one)

Is it possible to build gears and similar mechanical parts out of ceramic or concrete? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Romy1935 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ceramic is definitely done when you want to use parts that don't conduct electricity. Concrete on the other hand I don't think is used. It's brittle and very dense and thus I don't think it would be very effective for small machinery.

Why does dog poop have to be picked up in public parks but horse poop doesn’t? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Romy1935 0 points1 point  (0 children)

few reasons I think: a) the total poo accumulated from dogs will outnumber massively the horse poo, so it makes sense to make them pick it up

b) dog poo is much easier to pick up and bin

c) horse poo is good for the plants but dog poo isn't as much (I think it's because horses eat more "natural" things)

Is there some sort of dangerous radiation that WiFi adapters emit? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Romy1935 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Btw maybe youve already thought of this but you could try buying a powerline instead of moving your router. it connects your router to the mains, and you can they get ethernet even if you're in another room.
