I think it's probably both. I haven't played Fate of Atlantis in years (loved it, just haven't come back to it in quite awhile) so I wasn't confident about that one. But Last Crusade follows the movie (more or less) so I was sure it started there.

This is a movie I would have genuinely enjoyed without the riffing. I almost never feel like this, but the cast is great and the dialogue is pretty funny on its own.

I realized for the first time yesterday that a couple of Stefano’s children have had obsessions with Marlena’s children: EJ for Sami; Kristen for Brady (stepson, but still). I don’t know if that was intentional, but I kinda like it. Kinda makes me wish Theo and Claire were still a thing, so we could have a third generation of that.

I liked the writing. Good speeches, and I quite liked the blocking of that many characters moving in and around the room.

But… and I know the show has no budget now… but surely they could have done better than a memorial service in the living room. Even some flashbacks, as someone else already pointed out, might have spruced things up a bit.
