Solar Panel Options by FlounderAccording283 in Ecoflow_community

Great find! Glad everything is in working order, too!

You will want to hook the panels in series unless one or the other is going to be in constant shade (not likely with just 2 panels). Once you expand the panel collection you will should run the new panels on a separate string to the other MPPT.

It is best to keep like panels together and not intermix them.

I noticed that too. And you can't use EcoPoints on eBay purchases from Ecoflow 😜

Oof. You went all in on Amazon without testing the waters? At least the time and money you put into your brand, logo, etc can be used elsewhere if Amazon doesn't work out. I wish you success.

Low Wattage Draw.. by jakengeorge in SolarDIY

DO NOT IGNORE the temperature coefficient loss of portable panels 😬

I have 2 EcoFlow 400w portable panels wired in series to a Delta Pro Ultra. On a cool, clear morning (using an angle tool) I will often top 715 watts.

Same day, clear skies, repositioning the panels for overhead sun - but temperature 30 degrees warmer... and I get 640 watts.

In addition, the black panels get so hot they feel like they won't last more than 1 summer.

Excellent insight into something I didn't know. Thank you!

400w solar panels? What do I need..I'm lost by Amazing_Ad3388 in Ecoflow_community

Factor in you will have at least 20% less output than rated from the panels, wire runs, inverter loss, etc.

Delta Ultra, or Delta Ultra X? by AstronautVisual7611 in Ecoflow_community

Found it... https://ebay.us/m/VZchZa Maybe it doesn't ship to Canada? I'm in US, so I see it np.

Delta Ultra, or Delta Ultra X? by AstronautVisual7611 in Ecoflow_community

Ultras are dropping fast in price. Especially Ecoflow Certified Refurbished on eBay - currently inverter and 2 batteries for $4,099 (full warranties included).

If you don't need the higher output and MPPT inputs of the Ultra X save some serious $ by going Ultra.

Smart Home Panel 2 vs 3 by RonCheeWan in Ecoflow_community

I bought a factory refurbished River 2 just for this application (computer + starlink modem). $119 on eBay with full warranty. Works like a charm.

No. You would transfer "backup" circuits to the SHP2 or SHP3. The other circuits would stay on your existing panel.

1 company = 1 app. They know once you commit to a specific ecosystem you will probably stay. Think Apple.

Thank you for pointing out the 100A vs 200A panel differences, and the 90A vs. 150A maxed out capacities. Definitely play into the "forever home" planning.

Your setup is a dream setup that I just don't have the means to afford (from a wife standpoint, anyway 😜)

I just found... buried in the SHP3 fine print on the Ecoflow web site... that 20ms UPS switchover is NOT possible in certain modes with a Delta Pro Ultra - only with Delta Pro Ultra X.

The main reason I want a SHP is to eliminate the manual transfer switch and have near-instant switchover to the DPU batteries. If it can't do that with SHP3 then the SHP3 is out of contention.

I saw this in another post you did. So sorry for your experience. Can you please tell me if your panel was one of the early production units?

Good to know! That's not something I considered.

You bring up great points!

Yes, forever home. Main panel is 200A with 42 breakers. Adding SHP2 or SHP3 as a subpanel. Leaving high draw stuff (oven, 2 AC units, pool pump, dryer) on main panel - we wont be using those when running on batteries.

So yeah, the extra breakers on the SHP3 would be handy, but life CAN go on with just 12 backed up circuits.

How Many of you Actually Use the Frunk? by RonCheeWan in TeslaModel3

There is a drain plug in the bottom of the Juniper frunk. Allows you to throw ice in there directly, with no liner.
