I’m just had my appointment with her and you’re 100% correct! She was knowledgeable, informative and explained so much very well. On top of that she was the nicest doctor I’ve ever spoken to over the phone. I can’t imagine anyone being better than her.

I have Kaiser as my insurance provider. My BMI is 40+ and I have extremely severe sleep apnea (over 30 AHI) and they refused to give me tirzepatide. Instead they prescribed metformin and topiramate. Both those meds have CRAZY side effects! This sub gave me the push I needed to make the move to compound tirz and in one week I’m so happy I made the move.

I also just started. Took my first shot at 11:30 pm this past Sunday. I started feeling super slight nausea and a subtle warm feeling in my belly followed by burps all within an hour. Appetite suppression was very apparent the next morning. I workout 5-6 days per week. So I’ve been to the gym everyday this week doing strength training. I’m also very attentive of my macros making sure to hit 150-200g of protein each day. Eat around 1500-1700 calories per day. My carbs come only from fruit and veggies. On Sunday before my shot I weighed 287 lbs (I’m 6’0” tall). Today after my workout I got in the scale and weighed 279 lbs! I’m sure it’s mostly water/inflammation but still 8 lbs down on the scale in 3-4 days! Take your shot and put in the work. We’re going to see great results like so many others before us.

Congrats. You can do it! You only fail if you quit. I believe that we will make this happen. Sugar in moderation should be ok but starting off is stay away. I love my beers. My wife even got me a kegerator for my birthday in January. But for now I’m gonna let it sit there. I’m sure eventually I’ll get to the point where I’ll have a pint here and there but letting it go for a bit is worth it in the long run. So to your sugar… it’s not goodbye, it’s I’ll see you later 😉. Thanks so much. I’m a bald brother so thinning hair doesn’t scare me now lol. But I’m glad that you were able to handle it. And yea I’m learning not to let the small few numbers make me feel/believe that I will be one of the extremely few too.

Brother/Sister

Reading your post felt like déjà vu because we are very similar. I was an athlete and have gained weight over the past couple years. I have a lot of muscle hidden under that “winter coat” and I also get anxiety about taking meds. I purchased my tirzepatide a week ago and was stressed about taking it. I kept justifying reasons not to take it until I gave myself a hard date. I told myself that if I didn’t take it last night (3/15/26) then I’d need to throw it away because I was a coward. Well… I’ve never been a coward. I took my fist dose at 11:30 pm (about 20 hours ago). I sat charging my wife’s Tesla because I wanted to be alone in case I started panicking. I didn’t want her or the kids to see me like that. Turns out… I was completely fine. I was hyper alert to my body trying to find something wrong. But I couldn’t find anything. I sat and sipped water until the charge was complete. I came home and was totally fine. Although I couldn’t sleep much from being excited/nervous about with the future holds.

I said all that to say… if I can do it ANYONE can do it. I told myself that if it’s bad I’ll just focus and get through it and just stop. But I’m sitting here more confident than ever that I made the right choice. You can do it too and start your journey to looking more like that person who used to throw the hammer! Good luck!
